Description of 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible Restomod

A 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle convertible will always make a great first impression. After all, the factory droptops of this muscle car legend are rare. But when you can have one with slick paint, A/C interior, and a modern fuel-injected Corvette power under the hood, then you know you're looking at the standout among standouts. Sporty Chevelles always look best in black. So you know exactly why they took the time to lay down plenty of glossy darkness.... And it looks positively aggressive with the right Super Sport additions, like the full-width blacked-out grille, blacked-out rear panel, and SS badging. Mirror-like bumpers and complete trim add plenty of shine, but what will really grab your attention are the upgraded set of wide 17-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. They hint at all the upgrade power within (more on that in a moment.) But more than just look the part of the aggressor, this build has a tan folding roof that adds a plenty of elegance to this total presentation. If you like the way the paint and top look together, then with the touch of a button, you're going to love powering down the roof to reveal the inside. After all, a convertible is meant to be open to the world, so it continues this black and tan sensibility. The door panels, carpeting, dash pad, convertible boot, and button-top seats all look like they received the proper investment to continue looking terrific. You get all the best classic Chevelle pieces, like the bucket seats, center console, and horseshoe shifter. But as a true restomod, you can also instantly see this has been thoroughly upgraded. You get a new wood and chrome steering wheel, and beyond that, a full set of Dolphin gauges are set into a carbon fiber panel. There are terrific driving upgrades like cruise control, tilt column, and an AM/FM/CD stereo. Plus, there's cold-blowing R134a air conditioning so you can enjoy top-down fun long into the summer season. You'll love lifting the hood at cars shows. After all, people will marvel as they look into the glossy black engine bay and discover the modern 5.7-liter V8 borrowed from a C5 Corvette. This fuel-injected powerhouse is great for both everyday usability and serious muscle. Plus, it has been enhanced further with a Spectra air intake and aftermarket heads. Also borrowed from the Corvette is the 4L60E automatic transmission. This is stout enough to give you confident kick-downs for power, and it's comfortable enough for overdrive cruising. This performance and comfort dual nature is furthered by the Positraction rear end, front disc brakes, and the modern grip of BF Goodrich gForce tires. Chevrolet only built 10,600 Chevelle droptops in 1968, making them a very rare commodity a half-century later. So to find one so nicely presented with a modern drivetrain is the kind of treat that doesn't come around very often. Don't miss out, call today!
