Description of 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS/RS |
Does not run, as is. A copy of the paper title for the vehicle, issued in 1983, is held by seller. Attempted to run a vehicle history but had no success. This is, from what can be observed from the parts on the vehicle and my crude attempts at deciphering the cowl tag, an SS/RS Camaro, fold down rear set, 12 bolt rear end, multi-leaf springs, manual transmission setup, gauge pack and console. It appears (again my cowl tag decoding) to have had the L48 option, which is somewhat supported by the SS350 gas cap and the heavy duty suspension parts. I found the car in Tucson, AZ in 1983 sitting forlornly for sale in a parking lot. Somebody had dropped a 307 engine in it. The seats were gone and the driver used an ottoman when driving. I "saved" it as I didn't think a car with history such as this should be junked, which was obviously the next stop on the schedule. Upon purchase, I stripped the engine and transmission. I believe it had a Muncie M21 in it at the time. The car was registered (AZ title available). The car was towed to central Nevada in 1983 and stored on my parents' place. It was then transported to central Washington in 2015. As can be seen, this is a project car. It appears that the two front fenders have been replaced based upon the colors. The trunk pan is rotted out above the gas tank and there is some rot behind the left rear wheel. There is obviously no interior, no engine, and no installed transmission. The interior of the body has been punched on the right hand side by the anti-windup (wheelie bars) as can be seen in the photos. Pieces and parts from the car, including some seats picked up for the vehicle, the SS hubcaps and gas cap, driveline, mirrors, front trim, etc are on the tarp in the photos. These, of course, go with the car as do the transmissions if you want them. I stripped Muncies apart frequently at the time so have no idea if these are the ones for this particular vehicle. If you have questions, or need additional photos (within reason), please ask. Prospective buyers are urged to physically examine the car prior to bidding. Be patient if you don't get an immediate response. Sometimes I don't have ready access to a computer to respond and it may take me several days to get back to you. I always wanted to rebuild this car but unfortunately it is now time for me to pass it on to someone who can.
