Description of 1968 Chevrolet C10 68 C10 Pro Touring 67 69 Truck Fleet Sted Short side |
1968 Chevrolet C10 Stepside Pro Touring Pickup The Chevy pickups for 1968 were regarded as handsome in appearance, and solidly constructed to give long-lived stamina in all types of service. Chevrolet power teams were designed to fit a wide range of operating requirements, including six- and eight-cylinder units to get the job done. Stepside, shortbed C 10 half-ton models where not only good looking but practical. Chevy's Stepside pickups for '68 with the streamlined and highly functional cabs offered users a sturdy box that facilitates loading and unloading from either side. Handy step running boards between cab and rear fenders make it easy to handle items in the hard-to-reach area near the front of the body. Wide flareboards on both sides have a rolled outer edge for greater rigidity and safer loading. Stepside bodies are contained between the rear fenders to provide smooth interior walls full 50-inches apart, allowing plenty room for four-foot-wide material - that is if you wanted it in stock form for hard service on the job or tending to the farm. Other Chevrolet C10 Stepsides had a different mission to fulfill and this purple metallic with gray leather interior example is one that has been diligently restored into a Pro Touring model. It is healthily powered with a ZZ 502 V-8 crate engine that is reported to have a 502 horsepower output. All of the badges have been removed; the vent windows removed and full power windows have been added. The stepside shortbed cargo box is from a 1991 Chevrolet and other refinements include custom power seats, matching center console, air conditioning that works in a proper fashion, power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, dual sport mirrors, 20-inch Billet Specialties five-spoke wheels, performance-oriented rubber, bed tonneau, finished bed and eye-catching billet hardware.
