Description of 1991 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Wagon |
1991 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Wagon VIN: 1G1BL83E6MW245385
So, where else are you buying your minty, vintage GM Wagons anyway? Reluctantly, this one was turned over to us for resale to a lucky new buyer last week with the following recitation:
Way back in the summer of 2007 Mr. Tim M. of Auburn, WA negotiated the purchase of this nice Caprice from its elderly original owner and drove it home to show his wife. The odometer read less than 44,000 actual miles on that day. As the years passed, he fussed over the Wagon, always giving it regular attention and maintenance. Today that same mileage counter reads just under 93,500 actual, accident-free miles based on the observed condition and backed up by the clean AutoCheck report included above in the Ebay Listing. If you've spent much time looking, I'm sure you'll agree it's virtually impossible to find another twenty-seven-year-old wagon in this remarkably great original shape (and with these low miles) as most were turned over to a teenage driver after Granddad bought a new car and then beaten to within an inch of their life. Take a minute to look over the listing photos. They clearly show this has definitely NOT been Junior's Saturday night ride! Feel free to call me with questions or to discuss a sale before the auction ends. My name is Mark and my direct number is (206) 914-1173. There will likely be a few hundred more miles added by the end of the auction as I can't help but enjoy driving this rig before passing it to the next caretaker.
CONDITION:
The exterior of our Caprice is in remarkably nice condition. It still be wears the original factory white paint (I've found only one small touch-up spot on a fender) with NO evidence of any accident repair. All the glass is good without cracks or chips. Rust? Please, this boulevard cruiser hates body rust and you'll be hard pressed to find ANYTHING here to worry about (look at my pics of the underside and bottom of the doors). Yes, the Puget Sound area is famous for rain, but our winter roads are never salted. At most we'll only have one or two days of light snow. Everyone panics and just stays home. Climb over, under and throughout this car - I know you'll come up smiling!
Mechanically the wagon feels good and strong. I've added several hundred miles over the past week and have fallen in love with the smooth, even handling and comfort. It's never failed to start right up at the first crank each morning. As you would expect, the automatic transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and has no slippage. All four tires have at least 75% remaining tread and are evenly worn. It's still in the high 70's as this description is being written and I've really appreciated the good-working air conditioning on my daily commutes! Last weekend it was even warmer. On a trip down to Portland and back the A/C kept my wife and I very comfortable. Both the power steering and brakes feel just fine to me with no fade or pulling to one side. All-in-all, I can't can find fault with the way this Caprice runs or drives out.
On the interior, the fabric seats both front and back are exceptionally good. Absolutely no tears, punctures or wear-through spots. Same goes for the immaculate headliner. The factory carpets are clean and have always been protected by original mats (still held in place up front with tiny snaps). If you've got kids (or, like me, grandkids) they're going to always head for the rear-facing double seat! It's easily accessed by swinging out the tailgate - like a door - instead of dropping it down to let them in. About the only negatives I can think to point out are the factory radio (it plays only through one front and one rear speaker, with very low volume) and the power windows. While all roll up and down, they want to move off-track at the bottom of their run and then get stuck. No problem if you only roll them half-way down. The power door locks, power driver's seat and cruise control all function properly.
PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a nice car from a long-term, respected EBay seller. I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that's the main goal! Please don't be upset if I miss a minor flaw or you're required to spend a small amount on some unforeseen problem! No used car is perfect. Having said that, I have every confidence this vehicle could be driven long-distance immediately.
Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that new EBay members or those with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions or ANY negative feedback call or email before placing a bid. If I don't have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. The phone number to talk directly to me, as outlined above, is 206/914-1173. Please feel free to call any time during the auction. My name is MARK.
TERMS OF SALE:
Please check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You're encouraged to make an appointment to come by my Auburn, Washington warehouse and take the Caprice for a test drive. You're also welcome to have a professional inspection done on the wagon. It's being sold as-is, where-is with a free & clear Washington title. There are NO title brands for nasty negatives like salvage history, theft or flood damage to cause you concern! A Few Additional Terms and Conditions:
Many of my past buyers from as far away as Alaska, Arizona, the Midwest, Canada, Florida, New York and even the Mexican Baja have flown in here to Seattle and then started a road trip home the same day in their purchase. While I have every confidence in the Caprice, it's 27 years old and has earned the right to do short sprints over a full-blown triathlon. Shipping usually equals (or is cheaper) when all the ancillary costs are added in - and no flat tires to deal with in the middle of nowhere, either. If a road-trip home is the choice, I'm happy to meet you at Sea-Tac International arrival to hand you the keys. You'll need to drop me off back in Auburn on your way out of town.
The entire purchase price is due by cash (in-person only), a wire transfer or other certified funds within seven days of the auction closing. I can accept credit/debit cards but will need to first send an invoice from our card processor and ask that the 3.5% fee charged by them be added. Please remember you are bidding to buy, and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You're not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later; as mentioned, you're more than welcome to do this before the auction ends.
If you do decide to have theChevy shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transportcompanies to choose from. We ship vehicles regularly and I'd suggest you get bids from the transporters listed here on the Ebay site by pressing the "Shipping" tab found above this description section. I do have a local company many of our buyers have used for delivery all over the country and I'd be happy to get a COD bid from them after the auction is completed. The zip code for pick-up is 98002 (Auburn, Washington). The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER.
TheCaprice can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is $20 per day. |
