Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we begin our 20th year in the classic and muscle car business. The Chevy II, later called the Nova, was an extremely popular small car first offered by Chevrolet in 1962. While many of these cars were used simply as economical transportation, hot rodders and street racers immediately recognized the benefits of its compact size and light weight. Which leads us to this clean little 1962 Chevy II Restomod, a tasteful blend of classic styling with... upgraded engine, drivetrain, and chassis. This gem is powered by a 355ci Chevy small block that's been fortified with a COMP cam with roller rockers, 10:1 CR pistons, an Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum intake manifold, a Holley 750cfm carburetor, powder coated 'shorty' headers, MSD ignition, an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, and a Milodon 7qt oil pan. The herd of horsepower is corralled by a Lakewood bellhousing surrounding a Hays flywheel and Centerforce dual friction clutch, passed to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, then turned loose by a Chevy 10 bolt rear end fitted with an Eaton Posi, limited slip differential, 3.55 gears, and Moser C-clip axles. The front suspension is a complete TCI system with disc brakes and rack and pinion steering connected to an Ididit tilt steering column. The TCI front end included a set of smooth inner fenders which really clean up the engine bay. The rear suspension sports traction bars and air shocks, while a set of subframe connectors ties everything together for crisp handling. A detailed photo journal shows the body taken to bare metal, so rust is not an issue. The glass is excellent, including a new windshield, and new carpet, weather stripping, new fuel and brake lines, and a new gas tank ensure a trouble-free cruise. Finally, the car was rewired with a Painless wiring harness for peace of mind. A clean, fun, and fast Chevy that's been built to last. Photos and the original owner's manual included.
