Description of 1989 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500

If you're looking for a slick custom with an attractive paint job, V8 power, and a great stance, perhaps this 1989 Chevrolet Silverado pickup would fit the bill. Very well built and full of tricks, this is an affordable (and practical) way to have some hot-rod fun without the hassle of building your own. Build a truck this nice and you're going to stand out in a crowd. Fortunately, the work is tasteful and well-executed, using the tried-and-true custom tricks that make these trucks among the most popular with street truck enthusiasts. A smoothie front bumper, sport mirrors, custom LED taillights, tailgate spoiler, and a smooth rear roll pan all give the once-common pickup an uncommon and very attractive look. A billet grille with a chrome surround adds a splash of brightwork on the otherwise monochromatic machine, and with that lowered stance, nobody will mistake this for a parts hauler. However, thanks to the 6-foot bed, it'll carry just about anything you can throw at it, and with a spray-in bedliner, no worries about damaging perfect paint. You'll also note that the tailgate handle is hidden behind a relocated license plate, the glass has a modest tint, and those four exhaust outlets in the center which really look cool. They did a full makeover on the interior, which was already one of Chevy's better work spaces. New burgundy seat covers on the bucket seats ties it together with the exterior quite well, and while it's definitely custom, it's not so over-the-top that you won't want to drive it every day. A center console and armrests make this truck feel more like a luxury cruiser and it's loaded with goodies like A/C, cruise control, a tilt steering column, and a trick AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth entertainment system with a touch screen and navigation. The gauge panel remains completely stock with a stainless applique to change the look a bit. To be honest, the overall workmanship in this truck is quite impressive, particularly the upholstery and door panels, which is a hallmark of all great customs. To keep it reliable and fun, a fresh 350 cubic inch V8 went into the engine bay, topped by the original throttle-body fuel injection system so it starts and runs just like the factory intended. Aside from a custom air cleaner and some flashy valve covers, it remains mostly OEM and extremely clean. There's a new throttle body under that chrome air cleaner, plus a full tune up, but the fact that someone obviously spent a lot of time just cleaning and maintaining the engine pretty much as the factory built it is impressive. It's backed by a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and the original rear end, with lowering accomplished with spindles and springs up front and lowering blocks out back, giving it that street rake that looks right. A Flowmaster dual exhaust system leads to those outlets under the rear pan and sounds spectacular. The front suspension was rebuilt so it tracks right and it sits on those flashy 20-inch wheels and 265/50/20 performance radials all around. This slick Chevy uses all the tricks to make a big impact, but none of them detract from its user-friendly nature. If you'd like a practical hauler you can drive every day but will still attract attention and trophies, this is an awesome choice. Call today!
