Description of 1976 Chevrolet Nova Medalist SS *Custom order from factory* |
1976 Nova (originally a medalist Which means every factory option in 76 is in the car. this one was custom ordered from the factory and was/is one of a kind) basically its all SS except for the rear end. Medalists were custom built in 76 for the 76 olympic games. they came with every factory option and they came in either the "gold"(SS) package or the more rare "silver"(6 cylinder) package. this one was a silver custom ordered with the SS motor and auto trans. Every chevy dealership got 1 gold medalist and even fewer got the Silver. 350 small block: Lunati Cam( . 478/. 488 lift and 292 Dur). early* Vortec heads. HEI Distributor 65k coil. rated over 7000RPM. new carb(850CFM). all within the last 1000 miles; bottom end rebuilt less than 10k ago by previous owner. TH350 Turbo3spd auto; B&M shift kit. rebuilt 10k ago by previous owner. Shifts incredibly smooth. I rebuilt the entire top end of this car recently after the stock cam lost cyl #4 exhaust lobe which is due to poor manufacturing of the camshafts. I inspected the block and suspect it had been Honed. as the cylinder walls are perfect(i could see my fingers in the reflection of the cylinder walls)The body has been stripped to bare metal and painted a few times since I've owned it (couldn't decide on a color) and I just painted it again this time it's Single Stage Boulevard Black. done in the same paint that these cars were painted from the factory. The seats are brand new(about a year and a half old) but I have only sat in/driven it a handful of times to break in the cam. And they look awesome. They are charcoal leather bench seats the Seat frames are from a 72 nova. everything else is original. down to the wheel covers; I've replaced the mirrors; door handles; weatherstripping; taillight assembly's; headlights(xenon H4 conversion so no more dull 7" bulbs) true dual exhaust. 1 7/8" longtube headers. 2 1/2" pipe. can be ran out in front of the rear wheel or straight out the back for about $100 at any exhaust shop. I bought a new tach also but haven't installed it in the car but it does work I used it to break in the camshaft and heads. Factory Heat & A/C car which adds 10% to the blue book. as well as power disc brakes and power steering from the factory which is another 10-15%. This car is in well above average condition already but is worth $9000 in "average" condition. I've spent countless hours working on this thing and it shows. Still waiting on some parts to arrive but it's nearly 100% and makes enough power to put a smile on your face but not so much that would make it undriveable. it does fairly well on fuel for a car of its age engine size and mods; about 15-17mpg. stock heads. intake manifold. and cam(though this part is no good) will all come with the car as well as 2 complete sets of wheels caps. have six total of the chrome rings pictured. as well as 4 corvette rally caps. its not perfect however. there are cracks in the dash(which is to be expected) and the rear deck lid could use new vinyl. needs floor mats. Original radio in the car. but i have not gotten around to seeing whats wrong with it. and i likely wont. but there are mounts for speakers in the rear deck lid. Mechanically its 10/10 i just drove it 120 miles today without a problem i hate seeing the Odometer go up on this car. The body is 9. 5/10Interior 9/10I'd give the paint job a solid B+/A- |
