GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1955 Chevrolet 6400 2-Ton for your consideration. Finished in Red paint with a Red painted wooden bed and a two-toned Tan interior. Stuffed under the hood is a 261ci (4.3L) inline 6 engine with a 3/4 speed manual transmission. This is the original low mile engine from '55 with no aftermarket performance parts. All factory options are still intact with no further upgrades. This 6400 was used as a popcorn hauler truck... for the majority of its life therefore not being heavily used. Please call or email us today for more information. The 6400 was a truck series by Chevrolet, their first major redesign after WWII. It was billed as a larger, stronger, and sleeker design in comparison to the earlier AK Series. First available on Saturday, June 28, 1947, these trucks were sold with various minor changes over the years until March 25, 1955, when the Task Force Series trucks replaced the aging Advance-Design model. Similar to the 1954 model year, except redesigned hood-side emblems and modern open driveshaft in place of the enclosed torque tube. Serial number codes unchanged between 1953 and 1954.
