94 Caprice wagon with SS wheels and grille | | | |
|
| | Up for sale is a 1994 Chevy Caprice wagon with 161k two owner miles. Impala SS grille and lookalike 17 inch SS wheels. Lifelong southern/western car - nice solid body with no bondo, no rust. Same owner since '09. Boasting GM's Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission, she puts down plenty of power. Tow package with 2.93 limited slip rear end (GW9 & G80 build codes). Trailer preparation "tow package" means the factory rated the car to pull 5000 lbs but has an aftermarket 3000 lb hitch (despite trailer prep name, these did not come from the factory with hitches so all hitches are aftermarket.) Delivers consistent 16 in town and 24 highway at 70 mph. Body is very straight, undercarriage spotless, interior shows light wear. Newer Optispark and water pump. Clean history report with no accidents on record. Runs and drives great - drive anywhere. Questions? Click "ask seller a question" or call Fred at 315-246-0612. Please allow time for a response as I work 8-5 at a regular job in Charleston. Car available for showing in Mt. Pleasant after 6:30 pm weekdays or any time weekends by appointment. Condition Report ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Good battery & charging system. Newer water pump and Optispark distributor (Delco parts). Starts easy and runs strong. TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. EXTERIOR: Body: Body is exceptionally straight and solid. Very straight down the sides with NO rust. There is a small dents near the left tailight that can probably be removed with paintless dent repair. Otherwise, no body issues. Way above average body. Paint: Paint is very nice for age and all original except left front fender. Very few minor nicks and scratches consistent with age which are photographed. The only issues are some clearcoat peeling on left front fender (that was repainted) and some nicks/fade on bumpers. Also above average. Other: Lower fake side chrome is deteriorated like most of these are. Windshield has a small star on the far left side visible in pics. Undercarriage is beautiful - gas tank straps are still silver - see the pics. Underhood sheet metal and tailgate sill and door jambs (areas where these cars tend to rust) are also perfect as seen in pics. Aluminum wheels are in good shape with some staining and one center cap is broken. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in nice shape consistent with miles. Dash has no cracks and is still shiny. Seating areas are in great shape with no tears and no stains that wouldn't come out. Carpet in seating area has some wear and stains. Carpet in cargo deck is very nice. Headliner and sun visors are nice with small wear near driver's door, and just starting to peel back near cargo windows. Steering wheel is in nice shape. No smoke or pet odors. Not perfect but presentable. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) Power options work reliably, including power windows, power locks, dual power seats, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm stereo cassette, rear window release, rear wiper, intermittent wipers, and rear defroster. Newer A/C compressor and dryer (around 8 years old) and heater core (nearly new). The power antenna doesn't work, and the auto level/level ride would work, but one of the air lines to the right shock is broken, so it leaks, but the compressor runs great and it quiet (fuse pulled). As is common on these digital dash Caprices, the display is flaky and sometimes dims and the odometer is unreadable when warmed up and driven a while. Current odometer reading/pic when cold is consistent with past readings. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out very nicely as you'd expect of low miles. Steering is pretty tight, drives straight, suspension is tight. Brakes work well with new linings all around. Tires are a matched set of 20% tread remaining. Solid exhaust with no leaks - has turbo style mufflers with mild rumble but not loud by any means. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - drive anywhere. Parts: I have lots of parts for these wagons. If you want the factory air box/home plate, I'll toss it in. I have factory level ride air lines and power antennas and wheels.
