Description of 1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova

When the designers at Chevrolet first put pen to paper to design the Chevy II Nova, their priority was to create a car with "maximum functionalism with thrift", as Ed Cole, Chevy's General Manager at the time, put it. They did so in a hurry - rolling the first one off the assembly just 18 months after its final design was approved. Despite such a modest start, the nameplate would go on to become a coveted ride once in modified form, such as the one shown by this 1967. It's a very solid, strong running ride that'll be ready for action just as soon as you get it home. The Capri cream paint it now wears looks thoroughly vintage - it's not the original shade but looks the part and is in nice, clean shape, with no distracting blemishes and an even color. This venerable Chevy has come through the years more gracefully than most of its counterparts - more than a half century after rolling off the line, it remains a very well aligned car, with body panels that line up properly and doors, hood and deck lid that open and close with no issues. Some well-placed attention to its assembly of chrome has left it with trim that's looking very sharp and bumpers both fore and aft that sit nice and level and show no signs of mishaps. Just a year before this '67 debuted, the second generation of Chevy IIs came out, and the more aggressive-looking grille and sloping, almost fastback-looking roofline are the results of those redesign efforts. Its great looking color, combined with the clean condition of the chrome and ramrod straight body, makes for a very appealing classic. The interior remains in original configuration and is looking pretty sharp. While the bench seating could use a little polish, it's otherwise in nice condition, with no sagging or tears and plenty of padding still intact. The modestly-sized Chevys of this era did a great job of including a lot of interior space - you'll find plenty of legroom in back for full-sized adults. Just beyond the factory steering wheel, the dash area has also held onto its factory look, with the exception of the trio of Autometer gauges looming just above the floor shifter and a SunPro tach mounted on the steering column. Some of the accents on the dash could use attention to get them looking their best, but all gauges and control knobs are present and accounted for and the dash pad above is free of any tears. A full-size spare sits in the trunk, which itself could use a proper liner to tidy things up, but with its surface exposed, you can see just how solid everything looks inside. There'll be no fussing needed to get this Chevy prepared for action. The 350 cubic inch V8 inside the engine compartment starts up promptly and is running strong, carrying a 4-barrel carb underneath a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner on top, and a pair of chrome valve covers on its sides. The engine is well suited for frequent driving - mated with a 3-speed manual transmission, it provides plenty of power to put a smile on your face without having to rely on an extreme cam or overly high compression to mess with its reliability. Below, the undercarriage looks reassuringly straight - it's got a little patina to it, as you'd expect on a car of this era, but everything looks very solid. This very road-ready Chevy rolls on a set of 15" Cragar wheels that feature Goodyear Eagle tires. With its strong-running drivetrain, solid foundation and well-fitted appearance, this 1967 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova stands ready to create future chapters of adventures right away. Call today!
