Description of 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS |
I am listing this car for a very good friend of mine, Jim. He has the free and clear title in his name. We've been good friends for 40 years. He purchased the car in Sept. 2002 from a friend of his who owned it since 1995. It was painted cranberry red when Jim bought it and he had it sanded to bare metal and repainted the correct GM color code on the Fisher body plate, Green Mist. The paint job is very nice as the pictures depict. The vinyl roof was also replaced when car was painted. There is a small dent in the roof on the left side. Didn't want to remove headliner to fix. The front and rear seats have been redone. The carpet appears to have been replaced at sometime and the headliner is original and in good shape. The car has never been restored as far as he knows other than what I just described. It is a nice solid rust free car throughout and has been garaged since at least 1995. 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS6. Rare Green Mist(045) with saddle interior (771) Strato-bucket seats(A51), visor vanity mirrord34)center console(D55)still has a very faded "minimum 103 research octane" sticker adhered to it), power steering (N40), special instrumentation(U14), am-fm pushbutton radio (works!), rear seat speaker, cowl induction hood (ZL2), SS454 equipment (Z15), and sport steering wheel (N34). He has the protecto plate still attached to the warranty folder. Car has correct era (cast date C 28 70/ Cast number 3963512) solid lifter 454 engine (with long tube Hooker headers(do not have original exhaust manifolds)correct era M22 transmission, and a correct era Posi-traction rear with aftermarket Hotchkiss boxed upper and lower control arms. The car runs, steers, and drives great on the 14" SS wheels with Goodyear ST radials...and looks absolutely beautiful! Questions? More pics?
