For Sale 1972 NovaOG Steel BodyDrag RaceCar This nova has been a drag car since the '80s from what I know. It came from Washington- Spokane Area. I purchased it 5 years ago and have raced itat my local track. I also race a Z06 corvette and don't have time to run both of them. I have ran it at Bandimere in Denver CO a few times. It is a blast to drive - very easy to make consistent fast runs. I haven't ran it since July of '17. Due to limited garage space, it is time for this car to move on. This car was tech inspected @ Bandimere Speedway for 10.0 ET. I had the car on a dyno and RWHP is about 450. With me in it (170 lbs) the gross weight is 2850. In Colorado, at 5800 ftaltitude, it runs 11.20s. Years ago it ran 10.15 in Seattle. Original color was red,I'm not sure what the original powerplant was. These 68-72 Nova coupes are getting harder to find, so this would be a greatfind for someone. It is ready to take to the track now!! I would say this isnot street legal, but actually wouldn't take a lot to make a pro street car. It has a NOS set up on it, but I never completed the kit set up or ran it.The motor should be capable of a 250 shot to make the cara lot faster. Now about the details: All steel body including the floor, firewalland rear wheel tubs and trunk - the only thing that is not steel is the Fiberglass hood, deck lid, front and rear bumpers. The dash frame was removed, the inner doors are cut out to lose some weight. The windshield is original glass, all the other glass is Lexan. All of the chrome trim is factory & in decent shape. Engine - Small Block Chevy, 4 bolt main 350 Iron block, 13.5:1 forged pistons,4340 stroker Crank and Rods, solid roller lifters, Barry Grant 750cc Carb, Belt drive Cam drive, Crank trigger ignition, Alternator, Ported and polished Brodix aluminum heads with Jesel shaft rocker setup, titanium retainers, Head studs, SFI balancer and flex plate. 5 runs on a fresh build with new rings, bearings, & gaskets. All of the hard partsare in great shape.High capacity oil pan, high volume oil pump,electric water pump, MSD distributor, 7AL ignition controlbox, High torque starter, Solidmotor mounts and much more. The headers are stainless steel with mufflers, but still very loud! This motor starts every time and never gets much over 180F running. Very nice heavy duty radiator and trans cooler.I have plenty of pics of the motor when it was disassembled. This is an 8000 rpm motor. Transmission - TCI Built powerglide with transbrake and 5500 stall converter. I have never had it serviced, but it shifts and hits solid.AHurst pro shifter. The transbrakeis air operated. The shifter has air capability, but is not connected. It has an SFI safety shield. Rear Axle - Ford 9" Nodular Yukon carrier, 4.88 gears, spool, 31 spline Curry axles. All fresh gears and newcarrier. Ladder Bars with full adjustable heim joints, Coil over Shocks, drum brakes, racing driveshaft with Loop. The subframe connectors are powder coated as well as the rear axle housing. The car is very clean - top and bottom. Front suspension - Stock front subframe with urethane body mount bushings, has been powder coated, tubular upper and lower control arms, 2" lowering knuckles, &disc brakes.The steering gear box, all of the tie rod parts and suspension are new parts. The brake system is all new - master cylinder with Line lock and all new lines. There is no rust on the body. The rear 1/4 panels were pushed out to clear 29.5x10x15 tires and there is some cracked bondo from some time in the past.The paint is fair for arace car - not ashow car. It is black satin - the red stripes are painted on. Full 6 point roll cage, 5 gallon fuel cell with High volume pump, Rear mounted dry cell battery. Kirkey padded adjustable aluminum race seat, full gauges, CO2 tank for transbrake operation.I didn't have the frt bumper or factory grille mounted in the pics -they areincluded. The rear tires are 2015 with only a few runs. The front tires are Moroso Front Runners. This car has been stored in myheated garage since I have ownedit. I have a clear Washington title in hand, but this car has not been registered in several years. You are welcome to come take a look! Please, serious buyers only!
