Description of 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS |
1969 SS Chevelle Here we have a California 1969 SS Chevelle survivor, nearly all original except for a few revisions and upgrades. The car has original invoice dating back to 1969 with proof of assigned option pages showing the car was rolled out of the Lynwood, California dealership with the sought after L34 396ci 325hp motor and TH400 transmission. This is a rust free body and frame car, bearing what appears to be year correct 396 motor, Original TH400 transmission and 12 bolt Positrac 3:31 geared rearend all in perfect running condition. The chevelle underwent a paint job and interior restoration 6 years ago and has been garaged ever since. Driven on weekends and to car shows, this '69 can be driven across the country with no hesitation. Starting with the exterior of the Super Sport. The body is impressive and is all original with the exception for the passenger quarter panel. This has been the only other paint job since since original and it was brought down to bare metal, laser straight. It's covered in the original Cortez Silver Paint which is the factory color code #14 for this 1969. It's accented by the black SS Stripes. The paint is base coat clear with the stripes being factory over clear. It has been buffed and polished to deep rich shine that's slick as a ribbon. This Chevelle Bares almost all of the original pieces of chrome and stainless pieces from bumper to bumper. Original grill and headlight bezels gives an original patina to the car. New tail light lenses and bezels as well as door handles and mirrors were lastly added. The glass is appears to be original and is in excellent condition. The Chevelle bares new felts and seals. To complete the look, the wheels are factory 14x7 SS Rallye's with BFGoodrich white letter tires. Next, we will look at the interior of the Chevelle. The interior was reupholstered and was done in the factory 756 Code, Black with Strado Bucket seats interior. The seat covers have all been replaced as well as foam are in excellent condition. Also, the door panels, carpet, and and dash pad were replaced. It has the factory style console with correct horseshoe automatic shifter. Looking at the dash, it has the working Speedo and odometer gauges and all other warning lights in working order. We have a nice factory style tach installed in placement of where clock would sit. In addition to the factory gauges, the car has two aftermarket temp gauges, both analog and mechanical to read as accurate as possible. Also the Tilt Column has been rebuilt with new keys and the original Sport Wheel looks amazing. When you look in the trunk you will see that nothing is hidden and the trunk compartment is all original. The car comes with a 14" spare(not original). Finally, we will get to the heartbeat of the Chevrolet. Under the hood looks amazing as it has been daily driven detailed to look like it would have when new. It has a documented rebuilt 396 casted Big Block that's set up with a Edelbrock Aluminum Intake and matching Edelbrock carb. Other then the carb and intake, motor is stock down to the exhaust manifolds, very reliable and runs excellent! The 396 is mated to a a documented rebuilt TH400 Trans and a 12 Bolt Positrac Rearend. The drivetrain is a reliable as it gets with no oil leaks. It's dressed in the factory style chrome valve covers and the stock style breather. This Chevelle does have Power steering and Power Brakes with Disc on the front. When you look under it you will see various suspension components that have been changed over the years. The suspension is tight and rides nice stock. New shocks in front as well as nice air adjustable rear shocks with new big block springs gives the stance as a true muscle classic. This is a beautiful '69 Chevelle that has been enjoyed and driven throughout all it's years. Not a barn yard found rotting away that was quickly restored nor is it a trailer queen that never gets driven! Very hard to find in this condition and is turn key ready for a new home.
