Description of 1986 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 2500 Silverado |
1986 Chevrolet K20 Silverado ~Original matching California Blue Plates~Rust Free Midnight Blue California Truck~9 inch wide 16.5 steel wheels with 33 inch BFGs~Gm Corporate 14 Bolt rear axle, Corp 10 bolt Front Axle~5.7 Liter 350cid V8 motor backed by a Turbo 350 Tansmission Up for sale is a badass 1986 Chevrolet K20 Silverado. This truck has never left the San Francisco bay area in the last 32 years and has benefited from the mild climate the bay area provides. Big Blue is a well optioned 3/4 ton truck with all the essentials; a 350 4 barrel v8, heavy duty radiator and transmission cooler, heavy duty 3/4 suspension with 4:10 rear end and a locking differential. This truck is a pretty original example of an 1986 Chevy K20, it even has both original California Blue plates which later were replaced the very next year with generic California white plates they still have today. However after 32 years of life there have been some noticeable upgrades that are not original. The narrow steel wheels have been upgraded to wide 16.5 wheels that give the truck an improved look and stance. The truck also has a small lift with Rancho shocks all the way around. The original headlights have been swapped with much improved LED lights for great visibility in darkness. The time has come when square body trucks are not as plentiful as they once were. Whether they are being hacked up by your local rock crawling enthusiast, burning up in the California wildfires or just disappearing with time. Good square body trucks are more desirable now especially ones with good options and a good history. This truck has the best equipment you could buy in 1986 for a 3/4 Chevy truck, this truck has low miles good originality and has never left Northern California. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own this cool rig. It has never been in an accident and for the most part the paint is original. Originally this truck was a 2 tone truck, It is Midnight Blue and below the moldings it was Gray. Obviously the gray had been spot painted to match the rest of the truck. What is interesting is the originalrock chip guards in front of the rear wheels were never removed and painted over. GM paint in the 80s was really not the best paint and was notorious for just falling off. This truck does have some low spots and the paint is not perfect but hasn'tfallen off like many trucks of this era. Again it is a 32 years old 4x4 so there is some dings, dents and scratches the worst is above the rear wheel on the passenger side, otherwise the body is in pretty good shape. As mentioned earlier the original wheels were replaced with wider versions and wrapped in some 33 inch BF Goodrich All Terrains. I have tried to document all the imperfections of this truck with many visual photos. Overall this truck has great curb appeal and looks fantastic in Midnight Blue with a more aggressive version of its originalstance. The interior of this truck is in good shape. There are no rips or tears in the seat. There are no cracks in the dash. The original steering wheel was replaced with a steering wheel from the next generation chevy truck of the late 80s earlier 90s. All the gauges are in working condition and light up as they should. The only gauge that works inconsistently is the aftermarket tach however it does light up every time. The original AM/FM radio has not been cut out (thank god) however it is not operating at the moment. The gas switch works and switches to both tanks. Unfortunately and to much frustration the passenger wing window has been recently smashed for reasons unknown and will need to be replaced unless the naturally ventilation is desired. Mechanically this truck is in good shape. The original motor has been gone through and rebuilt as well as the transmission. Some of the modification to the motor include an Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, Edelbrock performance intake manifold, very mild Rv cam, Headers with 2 flow master mufflers, Chrome valve covers, the mechanical fuel pump has also been replaced with an electric fuel pump. The truck starts up and runs good around town and on the freeway with no problem. The free flowing dual exhaust sound great. The turbo 350 shifts in all gears smoothly and the NP208 transfer case shifts into 4x4 with no issues. I have describedthis truck the best I can to include all the important details. I have included over 150 high definition photos of everything I can as well as a video. Please let know if there are additional clarificationsneeded as well as photos.
