Description of 1968 Chevrolet C-10 fleetside |
1968 Chev. C10 fleet side I purchased this truck just as it sits (except for the seats )on ebay about 6 yrs. ag, out of the Washington state high desert area, I drove it home to Redding Californi, obtained a California title and have been driving it around the Redding area ever sinc, I had intended to install a 327 which I had ready to build for it and was waiting for the $ and the six banger to blow up to start the total frame off projec, but it just kept going and going and going (six yrs now ), it's like the energizer bunny LO, in the morning it sounds like the bottom end is coming unglued but as soon as it warms up it quiets right dow, I was told that someone may have used cast iron pistons and the skirts shrink when their col, which causes piston slap that quiets down as soon as they warm up ( about 3 min. ) it holds 35lbs. oil pressure at idle and 50 lbs. when drivin, it drives smooth and straight with no shakes or wobbles has developed a mis of late like one cylerder has an issu, I put tires on it about 4 yrs ago and you can see in the pics how well they have wor, it has some rust areas that need fixed ( like the rockers and kick panel, the floor is solid but has small areas of rust in the kick panel are, all in all it's a pretty solid uni, except for the lousy paint job ( very poorly done ) it's 98% origina, including the bench sea, which is in good condition (will be included ), the buckets are so comfortable though I would never go back mysel, the monojet carb is temperamental ( some days you need to adjust the airflow with the choke to get her to run goo, she never heats up and uses very little oi, I love this old truck and wish I were able to make it the beauty I had envisione, but at 71 yrs.old living on a small fixed incom, I have to face realit, this is being sold as is where is and must be picked up within 30 days of auction en, unless otherwise agreed upon prio, all cost and arrangements for shipping is the responsibility of the buye, however if needed I will assist your shipper any way I can including bring the truck to them ( must be within 100 miles of Redding ca.) a $500.00 deposit is due through paypal within 48 hrs of auction end. and the full balance is due within 7 days , either cash in person or by cashiers check through priority mail . Thanks for looking and good luck bidding FYI the car trailer in the pics is not part of this sale the truck is going upfor sale locally als, somay end auction if no bids ye, butif anyonebids I will not end auction |
