STK 2563 1963 Chevrolet Corvair With an air-cooled, rear mounted engine, the Corvair was a unique offering from a domestic manufacturer in the 1960's. The motor featured the compact horizontally-opposed piston design of Porsche and Volkswagen engines and it was constructed on a uni-body chassis with all-independent suspension. Some folks referred to the Corvair as the 'poor man's Porsche'. This 1963 Corvair Monza convertible was carefully restored in 2013. The refreshed Ermine White exterior is perfectly complemented by a power-operated...black vinyl top and stock 13" rims with factory Monza wire-wheel covers. A restored black vinyl interior with AM radio looks very original. The Corvair is powered by an all-aluminum 145ci 'boxer' six-cylinder that appears to be pure stock and is said to have never required a rebuild. It is fitted with two single-barrel carter carbs and dual exhaust. The flat-six is mated to a 4-speed manual transaxle that shifts smoothly. Brakes are manual 4-wheel drum. This Corvair Monza drop-top is a great driver and is ready for some summer beach fun. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
