1955 Chevy Bel Air. Sport Coupe 2 door hardtop. True and honest survivor! Original owner! 1955 CHEVY BEL AIR. A TRUE SURVIVOR! ORIGINAL PAINT. COMPLETE WITH 60-YEARS-LATER PATINA. MY MOM PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW IN SEPTEMBER OF 1955. COMES WITH ORIGINALS OF MOM’S CANCELLED PURCHASE CHECKS AND ORIGINAL 1955 TITLE! ALL ORIGINAL. AS FAR AS I KNOW. RUNS AND MOVES. BUT HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY PARENT’S GARAGE FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS OR SO. SO SOME WORK WILL BE NEEDED TO GET IT BACK IN RELIABLE SHAPE. CLEARLY IT IS RESTORABLE. IF THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. OR YOU COULD SIMPLY CHOOSE TO DRIVE IT AS IS. ORIGINAL 265 V-8 ENGINE. MANUAL STEERING AND DRUM BRAKES. PAINT HAS BEEN WORN BY DAD’S POLISHING - SEE PICS. ALL BUMPERS. MOULDINGS AND TRIM ARE ORIGINAL. AS IS INTERIOR. INTERIOR WORKS – RADIO. HEATER. TRICO VACUUM WIPER MOTOR JUST REBUILT BY WIPERMAN AND WORKS GREAT. CLOCK NEVER WORKED. AT LEAST IN MY LIFE TIME. CIGARETTE LIGHTER DOES NOT WORK. BUT EXISTS. DETAILED REPAIR RECORDS AND GAS LOG AVAILABLE. SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING IN THE 1970'S (SPEEDO GEAR. AS IS TYPICAL). BUT BASED ON THE GAS LOG. I ESTIMATE THE CAR HAS ABOUT 100. 00 MILES ON IT. BODY HAS RUST AS SHOWN IN THE TYPICAL PLACES – HEADLIGHT BROWS. IN FRONT OF REAR WHEELS. ETC AS SHOWN. FLOORBOARDS ARE IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE. NEW TIRES. “MAKE DUE” EXHAUST. ETC. RUNS AND STOPS. BUT RUNS SOMEWHAT ROUGHLY AT TIMES – CARB OR TIMING RELATED. BUT I HAVEN’T DEBUGGED AS OF YET. TRANSMISSION SLIPS A BIT AT TIMES. BUT IT ALWAYS DID THAT. AS I RECALL. IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN REBUILT / REPLACED IN THE EARLY 70'S. I DON’T REALLY HAVE THE TIME TO DO THIS CAR JUSTICE AND AM MOVING TO A HOUSE WITH ONE LESS GARAGE SLOT.
