Description of 1965 Chevrolet Impala |
Relisted due to non-paying out of state bidder. 1965 Impala SS 396 coupe. I purchased this as a parts car, but after finding the Protecto-Plate and verifying that is was a true 396 4 speed car, I don't want to cut it up. Its well optioned and not too far gone to save. Car has no engine, trans or driveshaft. 12 bolt axle appears original but I haven't found the stamped code yet Includes pedals, clutch rod and z-barNice console6k rpm tachworking tilt columnpower steeringmanual drum brakesbucket seat floor brackets are still intactIt will need lower quarters, fender repair, full trunk floor, etc. The floors are much better than average. There's a fist sized spot behind the passenger seat, and about a foot square area in front of the driver seat. Solid rocker panels and cowl. Good hood and trunk lid. Glass looks good as far as I can see. Frame has been repaired from the middle of the driver door back to the lower control arm mount. It has steel plate all over and could possibly be touched up and reused for a driver? Passenger side rail is very clean except for a small rust hole by the kick-up. Radio, radiator and interior trim included in trunk. Rear seat in good condition. No headliner. Front suspension and core support are very clean. Incorrect bucket seats and wheels are not included but I will swap out some other wheels and tires The numbers: Cowl tag decodes as 1965 Impala SS, mist blue with blue SS bucket seat interior Option codes: tint glass, M20 4 speed, rear speaker and rear antenna, padded dash, convenience group, deluxe seat belts Protecto-plate: Engine code T0803LF = 396/325 hp P0804 = muncie 4 speed Axle DH0713G = 3.31 posi According to the warranty book it was sold new at Ken Stuckey Chevrolet in Kansas. It made it way to the Cincinnati area and was last registered in the late 70's judging by the license plate. Previous owner has the engine and trans that was in the car at the time and I can put you in touch with him, but from what I can tell it was a later 396 and Muncie, not the numbers matching drivetrain. It has a clear, current Ohio title in my name. Located just east of Cincinnati, zip 45102. I have a commercial space big enough for a car carrier to park, and will assist with loading.Inspections welcome by appointment. Please see my Flickr page for more photos. Thanks for looking!
