Why This Car Is Special This truck is special from every angle you look, and mechanically it is very special. Let's dive in and explore why! Mechanical 1989 Chevrolet Silverados weren't known for their incredible power. This truck changes that with a built 468 CID V8 with more bolt on power adders than you can count. Full length Hooker headers running to dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers that exit through the sides of the bed let onlookers know this truck is far from stock. An aluminum air gap intake is topped with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor with a clear air cleaner for a cool custom touch. Nitrous, Line Lock, electric fans, electric fuel pump, and a B&M shifter make this truck feel more like a race car, but it is very streetable. Power steering, power brakes and A/C make this truck as comfortable as your daily driver. A Turbo 400 automatic transmission handles the shifting and runs to a built 10-bolt rear end with big meats in the back on 5-star aluminum wheels to make sure every bit of the power gets to the ground. Interior The interior is a nice blend of stock 1989 Chevy and custom features. The high back bucket seats and custom center console are a nice addition. The shifter has been moved from the column to a B&M unit on the console. The headliner is aftermarket with a CD player and speakers that gives the inside a very clean look. The dash retains the factory gauge cluster but the addition of several switches and gauges bring you right back to reality. There are switches for the fans, fuel pump, line lock, nitrous, additional lights and more. The gauges consist of a large dash mounted AutoGage tachometer and 3 gauges on the A-pillar to let you monitor temperature, oil pressure and amperage. A Budnik aluminum steering wheel has been added to finish off the interior with a subtle custom touch. Exterior This short bed regular cab Silverado was the perfect starting place for this build. It has a great look when stock, and this one was taken over the top. The tailgate handle was moved to inside and a tonneau cover was added to give a nice finished look. A cowl hood was bolted on and a Candy Apple Green paint job with silver stripes was professionally sprayed over the body. The paint is a mile deep and competes with anything we have in our showroom. The rear bumper was replaced with a roll pan with Corvette taillights and a license plate mount. The front bumper was smoothed and painted and a front valance with fog lights was added to give the front end a more aggressive look. All of the lights are clear lenses with LED lights up front and a billet grill with SS badging ties it all together. Lastly, the windows were tinted because, let's face it, this truck wouldn't look right with clear glass. Conclusion This custom Silverado is ready to show, cruise or use as your driver on nice days. It has a lot of time and money invested and is an out of the box show winner. You couldn't build this truck for anywhere near the asking price.
