Garage Kept Motors is pleased to offer this beautiful Corvette, a 1962 that marked the final year of this body style. This car bridged the gap between the C1 Corvette generation and the Mitchell/Shinoda designed C2 Corvette generation of 1963.  The '62 carries many styling cues that are very similar to the '63 Stingray but in a slightly smaller package. A period correct 250 horsepower 327ci V8 lives under the hood of this roadster. 1962 was the first year that the 327ci V8 was available, a bump up from the 283ci predecessor - more displacement equals more power.  A 4-speed manual transmission enhanced by a Hurst shifter handles gear selection. The car fires on command, runs well, and can drive at highway speeds without pushing the RPM too high. A great cruiser that looks the part. Brand new Rack and Pinion Power Steering was just installed along with Wilwood Disc Brakes, making the ride even more enjoyable. All original components have been preserved and do accompany the sale. Looking down the bright "Roman Red" bodywork, we enjoy seeing the subtle changes from the earlier Corvettes.  Starting with a simpler "tooth-less" grille opening, body colored 'coves' with added horizontal strakes, to the angled tail culminating in the twin taillight treatment that became a recognizable design aspect of Corvettes for generations to come. Open the door and Black bucket seats invite you in to the comfortable, race-inspired interior. Mounted on the twin cowl dash behind the large 3-spoke steering wheel, is a center mounted tach, 4 auxiliary gauges, and simple knobs which are great design cues that go right along with the sound of that V8 under the hood!  '62 was the last year for the Corvette to have an easily accessible trunk. Pop the trunk on this beauty and you'll find a usable trunk that you could fit luggage in for a weekend getaway. Everything is where it should be on this classic, and boy is this a great car to cruise down the road in!  This car is guaranteed to give you a smile as you add more to the original 43k on the clock.
