Description of 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Coupe

Awesome build!!! Using the best of all makes. Chevy body, 340 Mopar motor and 727 Mopar transmission, Ford 9" Posi-rear end) with Leaf Springs. It is riding on a custom frame. And the exhaust is exiting from chrome side pipes.
Converted to front engine with manual disc brakes up front. Centerline Rims are in excellent shape, New Tires, Skinnies up front. Has air shocks. Nice interior with after market bucket seats, Corsa Dash and bright Metallic Yellow Paint (could use a re-spray).
Aluminum radiator with electric fan. Hi Performance Distributor, New Edelbrock Carburator on Aluminum intake manifold. 727 transmission with manual valve body so even though it's automatic you will be doing the shifting.
A lot of effort went into putting this one together. Injury requiring surgery and months of therapy is the reason for selling.
Car is listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Very neat looking car and most decidedly different than the rest.
Thanks for looking at my auction. I will try to answer any and all questions throughout these 7 days but all answers will come after 7PM eastern time zone.
If your feedback is below 10 and you do not contact me I will need to delete the bid so please make contact with me if your feedback is below 10.
I can assist in arranging shipping for you if you need that kind of assistance or I can certainly help load onto your transporter.

Not sure why some of my replies have not gone out. To answer some of the more popular questions here is what I can add.
  • There is a fuel cell not a fuel tank but there is a provision for the installation of a Mustang fuel tank with the filler next hidden behind the license plate. License plate sits on a hinged plate holder like the Olds and Buicks of the early 70"s. Pictures will be uploaded.
  • This is not a tubular frame and it is not a G-Body frame. It was custom built for the car. I will try to upload pictures
  • Headlights, high beams and tail lights all work. After market oil pressure, alternator and water temperature gauges work. Tach on steering column works. Turn signals and windshield wipers currently not working
  • Drop down rear seat is the back shelf of the original rear seat but there is no seat so with the shelf down as in the pictures there is actually cargo space below the shelf.
  • Interior has no rips on seats or panels and carpet looks good though not the original
  • Front and Rear tires appear as recent purchases with tons of tread left.
  • Don't know what ring gear is in the pumpkin but I will find out this Saturday
  • Car does not overheat
  • Edelbrock carb is practically brand new.
  • It is a well built car

Added photos of the underside of the car to show the suspension, the cross member, the attachments of the leaf springs, the construction of the frame, the Mopar K-Frame front suspension, a possible fuel filler location behind the licenses plate and the side of the motor with the ID numbers on confirming it is a 340. Will try to provide link to you tube video.

Some have asked about the paint job. It looks good as is but does need a paint job to cue some minor rust on it's lower extremities like the fender and door.
