Make no mistake, we're big fans of customized rides here, but sometimes it's nice to see a classic arrive in restored but unaltered shape, as if it's been transported into the present with its original configuration still intact and yet is in full possession of its vintage road readiness. Such is the case with this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 Door Sedan. Looking sharp, running strong and wearing its original colors both inside and out, this Chevy is a very... solid driver that ably and authentically represents one of the most beloved classic models ever to roll off an assembly line. The expansive four door layout and those fender skirts partially concealing the rear tires on this '56 give it such a stout and expansive appearance. With just a quick glance you can easily picture it faithfully transporting its family down the highway in a much simpler era. Its two-tone orange and white color scheme - energized by an accurate refreshing of the original paint a while back - presents really well, with a consistent shine and smooth texture. Circle this classic and you won't find any visible dents or chips in sight - it's obviously been very carefully looked after. Every defining exterior feature appears to be in great shape, including the intricate front grille that sits underneath a vibrant looking Chevy emblem, with the signature rocket ornament on the hood above pointing the way forward. The cabin is surrounded by clear glass and the brightwork throughout seems very solid. Climb inside and you'll be in the midst of a top notch, well-restored vintage driving environment. The bench seating in front and back wears its original orange and tan colors on its vinyl covers that, judging from their fresh, unwrinkled appearance, have been only lightly used as they loom over the matching carpeting below, and a set of modern style lap belts have been added to provide a measure of safety during everyday driving. The factory-style steering wheel still has its showroom appearance and sits in front of a very sharp dash area, with its fan shaped instrument cluster protected by a still-clear lens and a chrome accent spanning the substantial width of the cabin, passing over an added AM/FM/Cassette stereo branded with its Chevy bowtie. The cavernous trunk area is solid, with rubber matting lining its floor and a full-size spare standing by in its proper upright position. The 265 cubic inch V8 sits in a neat and well-detailed engine compartment and wears an array of period correct components from its era, including the 2- barrel carb inside its compact, black air cleaner. It's a sharp looking powerplant, with its block, intake and Chevrolet-branded valve covers painted orange to match both the firewall and the exterior - and its contrast to the black inner fenders is a striking one. The engine fires up promptly and serves as the foundation of a solid drivetrain - this classic Chevy is very much ready to roll just as soon as you get it home - teaming with an also period-correct 2-speed automatic transmission that shifts very smoothly. A set of ultra-clean 15" factory wheels wrapped in 6.70-15 whitewall tires finish off the look of this car in just the right style. Below, the undercarriage appears to be in flat out great shape, with no signs of corrosion damage in sight. Faithfully recreating the magic of its era, this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 Door Sedan offers a strong level of road-readiness to go along with its vintage charm. Call today!
