Description of 1961 Chevrolet Other Pickups Corvair 95 Rampside

Very unique 1961 Corvair pickup truck with loading ramp on passenger side of bed, along with rear tailgate. Automatic transmission shift is a lever on the instrument panel; right side of driver. The highest blue book valued of Corvair model types. Though just a regular driver in primer colors close to original, it is an exciting conversation piece where ever driven; be that car shows, gas stations, store parking lots. Prior owner had the transmission rebuilt and carburetors (one single for each 3 cylinder bank) rebuilt; and brakes redone. I did an arduous body sand and priming with some tin and bondo rework (including driver side floor pan) where necessary. And discovered the exterior body panels had been previously bondo skimmed. The pickup bed and chassis are solid. My body work is rough finish, a 20 footer. For finishing would need backsides of rear wheel wells replaced, then a full body re-sand and paint. This is a solid driver, so to be enjoyed at shows as is or while a work in progress. Two new front tires. I rebuilt the heating system from rear blower, plenum to front, and cables controls repair. Replaced the non-working horn. Repaired the windshield wiper system (though the passenger side wiper is stripped in its mount). The turn signal assembly on steering column does not work, and similarly gas gauge needs repair. Most door window seals are missing, and front windshield seal has both lower corners some leakage. But I keep the Rampside stored at all times and is clean looking. Runs/ drives excellent as I spent a good deal of time finding the sweet spot for acceleration with the carbs and throttle cabling. Pickup bed is solid, I sanded and primed. Bed of course structured in three components the lower front floor, the front part of upper floor housing the heater blower fan underneath, and the rear removable floor for access to the engine compartment. I've partially refurbished the cab interior, repainting main parts of doors, dash, roof. The seat is good condition, just a 1inch tear both driver and passenger side (minor as not visible in cab photos). And 1spot of seam breakage very top corner driver side visible in a photo. Cab behind seat is solid, has spare tire mount but no tire, but the jack. There is about 1inch diameter rust through very bottom two corners of cab back/ wheel well seams. Cab equipped with optional sun visors, but vinyl covering missing so have been primed in matching cab interior roof gray color. Being air-cooled engine takes oil (Corvairs known for as they age) when engine hot in Summer, but also have a leaking oil pan gasket where one bolt is stripped so not sealed perfectly tight in that spot. As a result takes about a quart of oil every 40 miles (primarily leakage not burning). Only needed to replace voltage regulator and battery associated with engine. I would not call this a solid class3 vehicle $7,450 given some of the repairs noted above. But this is above a class4 vehicle $3,825 given its sound driving capabilities and unique original design looks. If you want to see the Rampside, stored in open door car shed 22051 Jay Ave SE, Richmond, MN 56368. I did my basic light restoration of the Rampside two years ago, have done a number of car shows and car runs since, so there is some exterior body wear evident on the paint priming from back then.

Also, if sold, the full proceeds of the sale of the Rampside will be deposited into the ERofCARs non-profit organization I started up this past Winter '18-'19. ERofCARs is in a pilot phase and will provide car repairs to poverty level residents of Stearns County MN meeting various requirements so they can use their vehicle to get to work, medical appointments, children's day care, etc. I'm not a tax authority, but with the proceeds being a direct contribution to ERofCARs a 501c3 non-profit organization, I would think the buyers price less the market value of the Rampside could be taken as an itemized tax deduction contribution. Upon sale, I'd gladly provide the buyer with ERofCARs 501c3 IRS document to support any potential tax deduction. Sold as is. $500 deposit due on sale. Local pickup only, TBD along Hwy 23 from Richmond to Waite Park, MN.

Got a bidder question, have older computer, don't see posted questions/ comments. I'm doing local pickup only due to an incident with a multi-vehicle auto-transport trailer company several years back on a muscle car eBay sale. That shipper somehow beat the crap out of the vehicle prior to arrival at seller. Thus, why local pickup only here, absolves me of responsibility in transport. I'd suggest you pickup personally with trailer or use a trusted single vehicle only transport company. But I will gladly assist with loading of the vehicle if you so choose. Thanks

Again, I don't find Q&A on the listing. Another bidder question about spare parts. Photo worth a thousand words, so added pic of a few parts. And I have clear MN title to Rampside in safe deposit box. Thanks
