Description of 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Greenbrier 95 |
This is my customized '61 Corvair panel van. The top was made by a body repair guy who eventually sold the van to an enthusiast, Bill Roloff, an engineer and machinist at the Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA. Bill and I met through his daughter, and I immediately knew I needed that van the first time I saw it in the driveway. I replaced the front bench seat with Volvo fully-reclining buckets with lumbar knobs and adjustable headrests. It's amazing what a little bed frame and some coat-hanger welding rods can do. She sports an air-cooled, 164 cu. in., 110 hp flat six from a '66 Monza coupe, through a two-speed Powerglide automatic. The shift knob is on the dash. The blue on the lightning bolt flag was used on the brake drums, with matching hand grenade tire valve caps. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A COUPLE OF YRS NOW DUE TO DIFFERENTS STAGES IN LIFE. THE MOTOR WILL NEED THE CARBS, STARTER AND ALTERNATOR. THERE ARE EXTRA PARTS THAT WOULD COME WITH IT LIKE WEATHERSTRIPPING. NEW FUEL AND BRAKE LINES. THE 1ST PICTURE OF IT IS BACK IN ITS HEYDAY. OTHER PICTURES ARE OF ITS CURRENT STAGE. IT WILL BE SOLD WITH A BILL OF SALE ONLY. I DO NOT HAVE THE TITLE. IT DOES NOT CURRENTLY RUN AND DRIVE BECAUSE OF THE MISSING COMPONENTS. BUT IT WILL. THERE IS RUST AROUND THE REAR DRIVER BACK QUARTERPANEL WHERE THE BATTERY SITS. OVERALL ITAS A SOILD TRUCK THAT WILL GARNER TONS OFF ATTENTION WHEN COMPLETE. SELLING AS IS AS PICTURED.
