Description of 1971 Chevrolet Camaro |
1971 Show Quality Camaro Z28/RS 4 Spd Numbers Matching Drivetrain & Original Placer Gold Completely Restored For sale is my 1971 Camaro Z28/RS that I have owned for about 2 years now. She had a Show Quality restoration that was completed spring 2012 and painted in her correct Code #53 Placer Gold with black stripes. You can see from the photos that she has a mile deep flat mirror finish with NO waves or any orange peel. The entire car was disassembled and all parts were painted separately inside & out correctly . She appears to still have her original GM sheet metal other that a few small patch panels in the lower quarters and the drivers bottom rear fender that were repaired correctly at the time of the restoration. The numbers matching 350/330 HP CGP - VO222CGP motor clearly shows her VIN number stamped on the pad and the numbers matching Muncie 4 speed transmission also shows her VIN clearly stamped on it. While the motor was out it was cleaned and painted and her original Winters aluminum intake manifold was removed blasted and resprayed and new valve covers were installed . The distributor had Pertronix ignition installed. new alternator. new correct smog exhaust manifolds. master cylinder. brake booster. water pump. hoses. belts. plugs. wires and correct dual exhaust with correct transverse muffler with the correct polished chrome tips out the rear. All fuel lines. brake lines and hoses. emergency brake cables. wheel cylinders. new motor and front light wiring harnesses and rear tail light harness were installed and I'm sure I'm forgetting alot of other items that were replaced. The numbers matching 4 speed transmission (P 1B 10A) was gone through. cleaned. seals replaced. new gear oil and repainted and the original CG rear was also checked and new gear oil and gasket installed. She still retains her original 10 Bolt Posi CG 3:71 Rear Her black 775 standard interior is very clean and the seats look to have been recovered a few years back and they still are in very good condition. I replaced the carpet with ACC black carpet with the mass backing which is a very thick rubber backing. and the dash pad looks to still be her original with the usual minor curling at the front. She has the 150 miles per hour speedometer and an 8. 00 rpm 6. 00 redline tach and water temp gauge and gas gauge that works just fine. but the clock and amp meter do not work. Her odometer shows 30. 56 and it is titled as ORIGINAL Miles. but I have nothing to back it. The paint job on this Z28 is a Very strong 9. 5 out of a 10 showing NO flaws and is super straight and you would think you were looking into a 10 foot deep mirror and all her body lines and gaps are excellent. There is NO rust anywhere on this Z28 AT ALL!!!! This Z28/RS runs and drives very good and needs nothing. There were only 4. 62 Z28's made in 1971 but how many 71 Z28 Rally Sports were made????? I'm sure not many and how many do you see in this condition with this Great GOLD color not many!!! Clear titleBelow is a video that I made today. it is an amateur effort at best. Using only my smart phone the video and audio quality is lacking. This car is stunning in person. There is no way pictures or a video can capture how nice this car really is. https://vimeo. com/119504105 |
