1963 chevrolet impala SS 409/4SPD

1963 Chevrolet Impala SS equipped with the original matching number 400HP+ dual quad 409 and original Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission. It is the original, very desirable Palomar Maroon with Black SS console interior and the working factory dash tach. This car har NO rust and is very straight.

The very strong 409 started it's life as a QC code 340HP engine, but was updated with a 2x4 Edelbrock carb setup by the previous owner more than 15 years ago. Both carbs function correctly. The engine has just been updated with new ceramic coated long-tube headers, a Crane Cam 150311 with .543/.551 lift, 292/296 Dur. camshaft, fully rebuilt cylinder heads including valves. New seats, springs, retainers, guides, and seals, with ARP bolts. It's topped with new aluminum valve covers, new MSD distributor, engine compartment wiring, and a new and perfectly adjusted Hurst shifter. Also the car has a new Eaton Posi rear end. The exhaust system is also new and is configured to exit in front of the rear tires with custom chrome tips.

This vehicle has just under 25,700 miles on the odometer, but the engine has less than 3K miles on it, It has been garage kept for the last 20 years and is fully restored and in perfect working order.

The current owner has added many recent upgrades and improvements that substantially improve the overall performance and driving experience. Features include; rebuilt front and rear suspension with new bushings, KYB shocks, new body bushings, 15x7 mag wheels with new BFG radial tires, newer u-joints, center force clutch pressure plate and rebuilt linkage.

The vehicle does not have power steering, but does have rebuilt power brakes witha new power brake booster andwith new brake lines.

The interior is in great condition. All lights and gauges function properly. All chrome trim, stainless and aluminum is in good condition. The reconditioned upholstery looks great and is without any tearing or rips. The radio is currently not hooked up and needs speakers.

It can be driven anywhere. Runs and drives excellent.
