Description of 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L-88 Tribute

Only 20 L-88 Corvettes were made in '67. They are the most desirable Corvettes in existence, selling in the millions of dollars. This one is known as the 21st L-88, it is a carbon copy. It is real big block car with original vin and trim tag. Extremely rare NOS parts were collected over many years. You cant tell it from the 20 that GM built. EXTERIOR: The body was off the frame and completely restored. The body gaps are... real nice. The L88 stinger hood actually functions as cowl induction. Repainted a high gloss rally red. All of the chrome has been replaced, has correct bowtie mirrors. The stainless trim around all the windows is polished like chrome. Front and rear glass are new. The rubber seals and weather strips are replaced. Door jambs have been restored and detailed. Has 15 inch Rally wheels with reproduction redline tires. This one is equipped with the optional side exhaust, it really rumbles! Headlight doors function fine. Radio delete so there is no antenna. INTERIOR: It is restored inside to factory condition. Has optional leather upholstery. Has correct shifter, 6,500 redline tachometer. It even has the warning label on the console to use only racing fuel. Since L88s had no heat or radio this one does not either. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under rated at 430hp to deter buyers, they were actually Dyno tested at 560 hp! This one has an NOS block with proper casting numbers and date, never stamped. Completely rebuilt, blueprinted and balanced. Has 12.5:1 compression, correct dated GM aluminum heads and intake. Completely restored, correct Holley 850 carb. Correct cowl induction air cleaner meets the foam seal on the hood. Has ultra rare NOS downdraft tube coming off the valve cover. Correct for an L88 it has the J50 power brakes with correct DG code master cylinder. Also correct is deep groove pulleys so the belts don't fly off at high RPMs. Correctly deleted fan shroud and ignition shielding. Also heat delete, has correct block off plate on firewall. It is completely restored and detailed to factory new condition. The only item I see that isn't correct is the radiator, although it has a correctly dated overflow tank. UNDERSIDE: Body was off the frame, so the entire chassis was rebuilt and detailed to factory specs. It even has assembly line paint markings. Has very hard to find P7 M-22 rock crusher 4-speed trans. Also rare FC code 4.56 posi rear end. Another requirement for an L88 is the J56 HD disc brakes, has correct dual pin front calipers. A red one that looks just like this car sold for 3.85 million dollars. Only 1 out of the 20 has original motor. Most were race cars that were cut up and modified. So even most the "real" ones are made up of other parts. Even building a tribute is no small task. Finding the correct parts cost a small fortune and took 20 years in this case.
