Description of 1964 Chevrolet C-10 |
The mostly good......... 1964 Chevy C10 fleet side, shortbed, small window, viair 4 corner airbag setup located in Riverside, California. This is a manual (three on the tree) shifter. No power steering, no power brakes, original inline 6 engine. Disc brakes up front with drop spindles. Bed frame is c-notched. Rear brakes are freshly done drum brakes. Upgraded cross drilled drums. New brake cylinders and internal mechanisms. Air ride system works great. Brand new battery. Lots of new parts including all new chrome grille, bumpers, bezels, tailgate hardware, door handles, window cranks, door sills, upholstered bench seat, vent windows, dolphin gauges (not installed but included), new carburetor, weatherstripping, headlights, turn signals, clear turn signal lenses up front, hood springs and hinges, ball joints, original wood bed with awesome patina, vintage pepsi cooler mounted in bed, upgraded wood custom steering wheel, 15" rims with coker wide whitewalls (fairly good tread left), much more I'm forgetting but thousands of dollars in receipts i will include. i will also be including all original parts I've replaced (bumpers, grill which are painted white) or deleted (i.e.. heater core, windshield wipers). The....not so good..... This truck overall looks awesome but its up to the next owner to decide how pristine they would like it. Everyone has their own style and to some like myself would be completely happy with the way it is but there are also plenty of things that can still be done. I would rate the paint a modest c+. There are multiple paint touch up spots as well as some rust issues which are mostly on the front two fenders. I would have replaced these eventually. They are still presentable however. The passenger floorboard has been patched prior to my ownership and has a small rust hole still visible. Both doors have some light rust forming on the bottoms. Both doors could use a little adjusting as well to line up better but not bad at all. Hood has light rust spots as well but extremely solid. Overall, this truck would not need much to get it to a B+ or A- grade in my opinion but like I said its still great the way it is as a daily around the town truck that you don't have to stress over pampering it. The E-brake is not working. The speedometer work, however, all electric gauges are currently not working. It could be something as simple as a fuse but i don't like the original gauge cluster so I bought all new Dolphin gauge set that I haven't installed yet but i will include. Driveability......... Again its a three speed column shifter. I think its a blast to drive personally but not for everyone so please make sure you are familiar. The original inline six runs strong but could probably use a tune up on the newly installed carburetor. I keep dicking around with the adjustments but haven't quite dialed it in yet. I like this truck as a cruiser and i was satisfied with the original engine but possibilities on an engine swap are endless. Please review all pictures and description above. I am not interested in trades right now. If you are serious, have the means to purchase, and have questions, please call me at 951-729-9058. Please do not call with any solicitations!
