1963 Chevrolet SS Nova Convertible Concours is defined as an assemblage of things brought together, and specifically if we are referring to automobiles, it means that it as close to original as one can get, however also all parts assembled are in very good condition. For consignment an assemblage of original parts all in very fine condition, and all working together to make a one year offering of a Chevrolet Nova SS Convertible. The beneficiary of a full frame off rotisserie restoration in 2005, every nut and bolt was attended to or replaced with OEM parts. Exterior Presenting, just as a young lady would be introduced as she descends the spiral staircase for her coming out party, this factory matching Azure Aqua that has been applied with lots of attention to detail, then high polished for an as near to perfect as one can get. This paint is replacing the born with Ermine White. Combined with all nearly perfect chrome, brite work, and pristine badging, and topping off with the new looking convertible top in black, which is in the very same condition as the rest of the car. Even the wheel covers are perfect and reflect the era this car was born in. Interior Perfect black vinyl, in the reproduced pattern of this year offering, showing off perfect padding, and in pristine condition, the bucket seating is in front the dash. Bringing up the rear is a beautiful bench that looks unused from the factory. Speaking of factory, this car has factory air that blows cold installed. And if it gets too cold, you can pluck one of the readily available Kleenexes from the Dealer installed dispenser, yup! it was an option. The factory style radio, and all original instrumentation you could ask for in 1963 is imbedded into this dash. A nice original restored Super Sport steering wheel is fronting the beautiful dash. Black non faded or stained carpeting floods the floor and is covered by factory correct rubber floor mats for protection. In the middle is a Hurst Shifter that sits proudly in its own personal sea of a chrome ribbed metal console. A shout out to the trunk which also has been resprayed in gray metallic and has original looking vinyl liner. Drivetrain Replacing the born with 194ci Inline 6-cylinder engine, we now see a restored, correct orange block 327ci V8. This will put out a consigner stated 340hp. A single 4-barrel carburetor feeds the engine, and a 4-speed manual actuated by a Hurst shifter replaces the original Powerglide. This conversion was done by a dealer, so it is all OEM parts. Power is put back to a 10 bolt 3.73 posi rear. Undercarriage Totally restored in straight black metal, sheet metal, corrosion free castings, and the Orange engine block and oil pan, of course the undercarriage emulates the topside! Razor straight lower door panels, and perfect metal are noted in the door jamb areas. This car could be considered a trailer queen, but with its engine upgrades, and condition of originality, if it were me, I'd be driving it, and enjoying it, all while racking up the awards from showing it!
