This beautiful 1949 Chevy 3100 is just that kind of truck. and will make the next owner VERY happy! THIS VEHICLE HAS A CLEAN AND CLEAR FLORIDA TITLE IN OUR POSSESSION. AND IS NOT A CONSIGNMENT VEHICLE. DESCRIPTION The very first day I took this truck out for a cruise down to the beach. I was overwhelmed at the response from the general public! People were waving us down to take pictures. cars were weaving a bit too close as drivers tried to balance cell phone cameras and driving. and the number of people who asked if they could take a photo sitting by it was just ridiculous! This truck is so cool. clean. and straight. you can hardly blame people for getting excited over it! The all steel body is in very good condition. and shows no signs of rust or rot anywhere. You can take a 4”x4” magnet over the entire exterior and it sticks like it was glued to it. The body is VERY straight. and you can see the level of attention that went into the build prior to being treated to the killer custom paint scheme nicknamed “Creamsicle” for the perfect combination of Vivid Orange and Clean Crème White it has. The finish is really amazing looking. and shows just as well under the streetlights as it does in the sun. YES. it has its share of little stone chips. tiny scuffs. marks. and blemishes from being driven 2350 miles. most of which was on a Hot Rod Magazine POWER TOUR. but it is still a clean. professionally done paint job that would probably grab you a prize for best paint at most local and regional car shows and cruise nights. I always hate the people that say the paint is PERFECT. because even if you shell out $14. 00 for an incredible finish. it is NEVER perfect. This finish is VERY nice. VERY clean. VERY presentable. and rivals anything else in its price range for overall appearance. The hardware. rubber trim. weather stripping. moldings. and such all look fantastic. and you can tell they were all new when the truck was built a few years ago. There are no cracks in the weather stripping. no signs of leaking. and all of the glass in the truck is in great condition with no cracks. chips. or damage. The soft tonneau cover on the bed is supported with two lift arms. and has a custom wooden surf board mounted on it for looks! It works like it should. and protects a gorgeous light wood bed with polished stainless strapping and hardware. and fully painted and detailed inside panels. Tail gate will open like it should. and the cowl vent and side vents also open when needed. A low profile antenna is in the left front bed post slot. and works great while looking good. The rear bumper is a heavy duty unit that was installed for towing a small teardrop trailer. It is painted. clean. and functional. but does show some marks from being used to pull. you guessed it… A TRAILER! It has two different hitch balls. wiring for trailer harness. and worked when hooked to my Aluma single car for a test. I have NO IDEA how much the truck could tow as a maximum. but would advise against towing your 28’ boat with it! Small trailers. a motorcycle trailer. or pop-up would probably be no issue. The interior of the truck is really clean and nice. and is a perfect place to pilot this truck from. A later model GM bench seat with folding center armrest was customized to fit within the stock seat frame base. and looks awesome! They retained the fold forward functionality of the driver and passenger seat backs. so that you can access the ample hidden storage behind the seat since the gas tank was relocated. The seat also moves forward and backward like it should. The seat is rip. tear. stain. and damage free. and looks like new in condition. The cab floor was treated to a layer of sound/heat proofing prior to be covered with close weave carpet matting in dove gray. It has no rips or tears. and only light marks from shoes that should come out when you take time to detail the truck. Door panels are clean and neat vintage look units. and have a clean power window switch installed on each. along with factory style chrome door pulls. Windows go up and down with ease. and have professionally loomed wiring through the doors. Headliner is a clean and neat stock style in great condition. Under the dash is a custom built speaker box that houses two of the round stereo speakers. It is covered in matching dove gray material and the speakers themselves sound fantastic when playing the AM/FM/CD stereo that is MP3. XM RADIO. and CDRW capable. The dash is painted to match. with the stainless trim from the factory intact. and a working ashtray and glove box. The dash also houses switches for the modern electric wipers. a 12volt cigar light accessory plug. key switch. head light pull switch. and the vintage looking gray with white letter gauges from CLASSIC INSTRUMENTS. The left side is a speedometer with odometer. while the right houses temp. fuel. volt. and oil pressure gauges. All of them appear to be functional when driving. A late model GM tilt steering column was installed in the truck. and has functional tilt and working turn signal arm. It is topped with a leather wrapped sport steering when from GRANT that is in very good condition. Below the dash is the control panel for the Southern Air micro system that was installed in the truck. It is R134A cooled. and has full functionality for AIR. heat. and defrost. It works like a dream. and has no issues at this time. Dual side vents are MORE than enough to keep this cab cool. and I had the fan on the low setting while cruising the beach on a 88 degree day Monday. and it was almost TOO COLD! All of the wiring on the truck was new during the build. and from the harnesses to the fuse block. it is all laid out cleanly and easy to access for adding items down the road. Finally. there is a master battery switch tucked up under the dash on the passenger side. and it is great to just reach up and kill all power to the truck for security at car shows or long-term storage. A built in SOLAR Battery Charger is mounted on the firewall. and has a household cord tip on it to make battery charging a breeze. Just plug it into any extension cord from your house outlet. and you’re done! The charger monitors it to keep the perfect charge at all times! Speaking of the firewall. the rest of the engine bay is clean and well-sorted too. and looks pretty darn nice for a truck that was never meant to be a trailer queen! The motor is a GM 350 Turbo-Fire motor of unknown origin. and is mildly dressed for looks with chrome valve covers and some other bits. It was built with drivability and reliability in mind. so no massive cams. blowers. or other junk to clog it up. Just basic. 350CI power from GM. It is wired cleanly. and all the accessories mounted to it work as they should. The radiator is an old school looking unit with new guts. and combined with the thermostat and extra-large fan. keep this truck cool as a cucumber even in the Florida beach traffic with the air blowing. The truck DOES NOT GET HOT. I saw it kiss 193 degrees for a second. then roll back down. It runs as cool as most new cars. and I wish they ALL kept this cool under pressure! The chassis on the truck is a combination of original rails and GM front clip with power steering. 4-wheel disc brakes all around drag this thing down from speed without any effort at all. and the brakes don’t pull. wander. or chatter either. Steering is light and sure feeling. and the truck tracks fantastic on the highway. Ride is soft and smooth. but never wallows or feels sloppy. Shifts are solid and smooth thanks to a rebuilt GM 350 transmission mated to a GM Posi-trac 10-bolt rear with 3. 53 gearing. Start her up and the choke modulates to give it just enough fuel to warm up. Snick it into gear. and she is ready to tear up the highways and gobble down miles with ease. The truck is super highway friendly. and you can see why it would be fun to chew up a 1. 00 miles of Power Tour in it! It rolls on super clean show-polished aluminum wheels wrapped in practically new radial tires with just over 2. 00 miles on them! This is a very clean looking. great running. easy to own. and easy to maintain classic truck that you don’t have to be a mechanic to own. It can be serviced easily at most Quick Lube type places. and is as easy to care for as your neighbors Camry.
