Description of 1983 Chevrolet C-10 Restomod |
Super clean and ready to rock, this 1983 Chevrolet C10 Restomod pickup is a fun cruiser that's also extremely practical. With the most popular short bed and regular cab configuration, it's sporty, but still capable of hauling the big loads when you need it. If ever there was a time to make your hobby vehicle do double duty, it's today, and this bright white pickup is as at home at the cruise night as it is at the garden center. Trucks are a booming segment of the hobby, and bring a very reasonable price of admission. However, the flip side is that finding a good, clean truck that hasn't been worked to within an inch of its life can be challenging. It appears that this truck has never been a work vehicle, and the condition of the straight bodywork-particularly the bed-bears this out. With factory-quality gaps and panel alignment throughout, it's what you're looking for in one of these trucks, and the paint quality suggests that someone truly loved this one. A cowl-induction hood always adds a sporty countenance to any Chevy, and most of the chrome and trim is brand new, including the custom billet grille, the bright bumpers fore and aft, the custom LT1 badges, and the bright tailgate trim. This one also offers a durable spray-in bed liner, so you shouldn't be afraid to put it to work now and then. The interior has seen a recent freshening that includes custom matching door panels, a comfortable seat cover, clean dash pad, and plush black carpet underneath. The seat remains firm and comfortable, and the commanding view from the cockpit is one that many folks appreciate only after they've experienced a full-sized truck. Modern Stewart Warner gauges were swapped in to take the place of the stock units and are surrounded by a blacked-out bezel for a killer look, and you'll note that this truck is equipped with power windows and locks, a tilt wheel, R134a A/C, as well as an upgraded AM/FM/CD/AUX/SAT stereo system. And those gauges cover all the vitals for the motor up front, including a tachometer to monitor revs for the driver. There's plenty of plush materials on the door panels, the headliner above is taught, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel is an OEM unit from a late-model Chevrolet truck, so it looks right. Power comes from Chevy's evergreen 350 cubic inch LT1 V8 topped by an electronic fuel injection system and driving a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine bay is clean and serviceable, showing signs of correct maintenance throughout its life. A few choice upgrades enhance performance and make it entertaining to drive, and includes things like the cone-filter intake, an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, and a set of factory-style headers feeding a true dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. Thanks to the overdrive transmission, this truck is a nice highway cruiser that gets surprisingly good gas mileage for a full-sized pickup. And with power steering and power front disc brakes, driving this square-body Chevy is an absolute breeze. Underneath, the chassis is quite solid, with the original suspension lowered a bit to give it that aggressive rake, which really emphasizes the flashy Joe Martin chrome wheels and staggered 275/35/20 front and 285/35/22 rear performance radials that finish the look. Trucks like this represent a very reasonably-priced way to get into the hobby, and this one is ready to cruise today. It's flashy without being too obvious about it, the interior is comfortable, and you just can't beat a fuel-injected small-block Chevy for reliability. Call today! |
