Description of 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Here are three videos. They were done the day I took the pictures a couple of weeks ago, they are as genuine as they appear, not staged in a showroom with special effects and lighting etc.
The pictures were taken just outside the garage where the carhas been parked for decades....they are not enhanced, cropped, or altered in any way and I used my cell phone (not a fancy camera or iPhone to take them)

In 1969, this corvette was sold at Lyman Slack Motors on Sandy Blvd. in Portland, Oregon. Today, it is sitting in a nice clean organized garage just a few miles away with just under 107,000 original miles. Its never been abused, stored in a barn, or neglected.
My cousin Paul bought the car in 1973 when he was in the Army. He said he wanted to have something when he came home, and he knew what he wanted. As he says in one of the videos posted above, when I asked about wanting the 427, his answer was quick and clear, “Absolutely” The car was ordered with Transistorized Ignition, a Close Ratio 4 speed, positraction, and, I happen to think, in the best color - Lemans Blue, and the ultra cool 427. It just looks right with the badges on the special hood. It has the same license plates that came on the car when it was new. Along with the original plates, Paul has the t-top vinyl covers (as seen under the paperwork picture shown) My guess is they may have been used a time or two. He has the original redline spare tire, and the best of all, PAPERWORK, lots of paperwork..... The original window sticker, the protect-o-plate, “glovebox brochures”, sales contract, and the bill of sale, to my cousin Paul, in 1973 who you can see and listen to while he is driving the car.
He kept the receipt for the rebuilding of the brake calipers when he had them relined in stainless steel. The car will stop in its tracks, firm and straight without noises or clunks. The car is tight. The 427 was properly rebuilt with a detailed receipt which only has about 5000 miles on it since it was done. It was not blown up, Paul just wanted it done, and had the money to have it done right. The Close Ratio 4 speed was rebuilt professionally at the same time as well. There are no clutch or transmission noises. No chatter, no bearing noises or whines etc. The original radiator was re-cored, it's not an aftermarket part or aluminum "magazine ad" part.
It does not “drip a drop” of any kind of fluid. No differential, coolant, transmission, power steering, brake, or oil… I mean no leaks of any kind at all. It's dry and clean under the car and not a wet greasy mess where it's parked- typical of older cars. It has a Centerforce clutch. The carb was rebuilt by a specialist as well, nothing has ever been done to this car by someone, or a shop, that "thought they knew what they were doing"
The car has NEVER had a drop of ethanol gas put in the tank. Only high octane "real gas" In case that is unknown to you, ethanol gas causes all kinds of disasters in fuel systems from the gas tank to the lines, to the fuel pump, to the carb. It usually rusts everything it comes in contact with if left for long periods of time.
The original rally wheels come with the car, my cousin always liked the look of the current wheels, which are 16" Americans with BFG tires that duplicate the outside diameter of the original 15".
The paint is not perfect, but, it is, ORIGINAL and by my standards, just right.
Yes, you can buy a Corvette with a nice new paint job, that you can wax and babysit and be proud of, never knowing what it may have looked like prior to it being "resprayed" If that’s the kind of car you want, this may not be a car for you. I can appreciate the time effort and money spent to have a knockout show car, not kicking those cars at all. I also think a car that is original and cared for has tremendous value as well. It's nice to see a used, cared for muscle car. They are getting harder to find, that's not just a line to sell the car. Its a fact. Restoration shops are busy and scheduled months or years out doing old cars because for most of them, its needed or required to enjoy them.
This car is for the person that wants an extremely well cared for, garaged, and never left out, ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING “69 427 STINGRAY” It has a nice ring to it…. Paul has driven the car several times a year since 1993. I mean he really has, not just to say he has as a sales point. He knows letting a car sit without use is bad for it. I have to mention, Paul is an engineer and pays very close attention to details. He has maintained the car himself for 46 years. He decided to stop washing it 20 some years ago, about that last time it saw rain.
The car needs a couple of things repaired- I mean two things, the am/fm radio does not work. The oil pressure gauge does not work. The thought is, that whoever the next owner is, may want to upgrade the factory am/fm and add in the ports for a smartphone or other options for satellite radio, which a lot of people are doing or having done now. The gauge could be done at the same time… Paul added a manual gauge recently to show the next owner that it has excellent pressure - it’s a very solid tight engine. NO SMOKE, NO LIFTER TICKS, NO ISSUES - NONE-
Every single light works, I mean every dash light, the license plate light, EVERY SINGLE LIGHT INSIDE AND OUT WORKS. The factory switches under the steering column that operate the cowl vent function as they should, they raise it - so you can repair or replace the hidden wipers and arms.
The car is not a rattle trap, it is so cool to ride in it.
You know the car can do business with the best of them if the situation presents itself. Paul is not a drag racer and has never trashed the car. He has cherished owning it. He earned it, it was not given to him. This is the kind of car that the owner appreciated, earned, and cared for. It's an attention-getter, and a new paint job would not make it get any more looks than it already does… of course… it’s a knockout body style. Any person can appreciate the lines and abilities of this car. It will always- always be cool- The car will have appreciation, and a buyer, as long as cars are being driven. This car will not go out of style. I am listing the car for my cousin, he has never used ebay. He does not buy and sell cars. He is not interested in reindeer games and all the games of a scammer. This Corvette is as legitimate as you will find, and so is the owner of 46 years. If you are serious and want to visit with him about the car, not the price, or the reserve or other tricks, we can set up a conversation-not an issue at all. He had me list it on ebay because it eliminates looky lews, tire kickers and time takers, and whatever else comes with selling a muscle car to the public at your home on Craigs or other sites.
