This 1957Chevrolet Bel Air 2 Door Hardtop is truly one of those have-to-have vintagecars. It's one of the most popular cars ever built and retains its awesomeoriginal look, strong 350 V8 engine and factory suspension, so it drives andfeels like a '57 should.
Matador Red is THE '57 Chevy color and for goodreason. It's a high-profile car no matter what color you paint it, but thebright red only emphasizes the look. Good straight bodywork is mandatory on acar of this caliber, so spending the extra time and money to get it right haspaid off here. The restoration was finished not that long ago, so it stillcarries a great shine that will sparkle at shows and makes other cars lookdownright shabby in comparison, although a multi-stage detail would really putit over the top if you want to go after some trophies. All the standard Bel Airglitz is there, including the anodized panels, polished stainless strips alongthe tops of the fins, and the brightly chromed bumpers. Accessories include BelAir-specific gold trim in all the right places along with those iconic hoodrockets, giving it a pure 1950s look that everyone loves. Correctly sorted anddripping with pure Americana, this is a beautiful hardtop that attracts a lotof attention everywhere it goes.
Few interiors in cars at any price point in 1957looked better than Chevy's two-tone cloth and vinyl setup. Particularlydramatic in black and red, it paints a bright picture in an already verycolorful car. Long-tubeheaders that feed a dual exhaust for a bit more horsepower so it's agreat-soundingsystem that's subtle but authoritative with a nice, deep rumble. Chevy orangepaint on the block, a chrome air cleaner with matching chrome valve covers and a bigradiator upfront not only serves a larger purpose, but also make you proud tolift up the hood and show off a little bit. The TH350 3-speed automatictransmission makes this is an easier car to drive, and it spins anoriginal-style rear end.Flashy Rally wheels are a traditional look withCooper Cobra Radial G/T, 15 Rims, raised white lettered radialstoreinforce the period look withimproved handling.
