Description of 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Red 400hp Big Block AC, WINTER CLEARANCE PRICED |
Little red 1965 Corvette roadster with a big block and a bad attitude, 4 on the floor and Vintage A/C. Very nice Corvette roadster with Rally Red paint over a beautiful Corvette body with great lines and panel fit. Based on all of the big block options, we believe this was a 396/425 hp car from the factory. It retains the original 6500 redline tachometer, 80psi oil pressure gauge 396/425hp only options, original big block sway bar and heavy duty suspension with the correct big block half shaft bolts, side exhaust and original big block bulge hood. Like many cars the engine has been upgraded to a performance built 454 that is estimated at over 400 horse power. This roadster has also been upgraded with vintage A/C and an aluminum radiator to keep this street beast cool. Very nice black bucket seats with a Muncie 4 speed on the floor. This car has a hard top only which has been freshly restored and painted to match the car perfectly. A soft top can be added for 3-5K if desired. This American Dream Machines looks amazing rolling on brand new Corvette bolt on wheels and Firestone redline tires. These wheels can be exchanged for stock Corvette rally rims to save some $. The car has been produced through seven generations. The first model, a convertible, was introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. Myron Scott is credited for naming the car after the type of small, maneuverable warship called a corvette. Originally built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, since 1981, the Corvette has been manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky and is the official sports car of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. While always being an automobile known for speed and performance throughout its history, the Corvette has evolved throughout the generations into becoming the widely regardedalthough never officially declaredflagship model of the Chevrolet car brand.""The second generation (C2) Corvette, which introduced Sting Ray to the model, continued with fiberglass body panels, and overall, was smaller than the first generation. The C2 was later referred to as mid-years. The car was designed by Larry Shinoda with major inspiration from a previous concept design called the "Q Corvette," which was created by Peter Brock and Chuck Pohlmann under the styling direction of Bill Mitchell. Earlier, Mitchell had sponsored a car known as the "Mitchell Sting Ray" in 1959 because Chevrolet no longer participated in factory racing. This vehicle had the largest impact on the styling of this generation, although it had no top and did not give away what the final version of the C2 would look like. The third inspiration was a Mako Shark Mitchell had caught while deep-sea fishing.""Four-wheel disc brakes were introduced in 1965, as was a "big block" engine option: the 396 cu in (6.49L) V8. Side exhaust pipes were also optionally available in 1965, and continued to be offered through 1967. The introduction of the 425 bhp (317 kW) 396 cu in (6.49 L) big block in 1965 spelled the beginning of the end for the Rochester fuel injection system."American Dream MachinesAt American Dream Machines, we typically have over 100 quality classic cars and trucks in stock and for sale.
