Description of 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe |
This investment quality Vette retains its numbers matching CPJ Code Cast Iron Head 454/365hp engine and original TH400 transmission. Factory options include Tilt and Telescopic Steering Column, AM/FM Pushbutton Radio, Power Steering, Power Brakes, T-Tops, Luggage Rack, Removable Back Window, Custom Should Belts and Deluxe Black Leather Interior. This Corvette was my Dad's for the past 35 years and he put 1,100 miles on it in that time. Since he got it in 1984, I can remember him doing the following to it. - Painted it white (Correct color is Steel Cities Gray). - Replaced the incorrect side pipes with nicer incorrect side pipes. - Rebuilt the brakes in 1997. - Replace the aluminum slot wheels with Ralley wheels - all 8" ~25 years ago. - Replaced the odometer, due to the odometer not working (I still have the original part with 105,100 miles on it) This is a numbers matching C3 dream for someone wanting an all original 1971 Corvette. This car ran about 5 years ago and hasn't been licensed since 1999. It has been setting with antifreeze in it and I'm currently in the process of getting it started. I've installed new plugs, wires, coil and I'm still not getting fire. My next step is replacing the points and condenser. The coil I removed was original Delco 293 BR coil and I did not throw it away. I have restored a numbers matching 1971 Z/28 and a 1971 Chevelle and I know how important the "numbers" are to some folks. This car will impress those kind of people. My sister and I are not into restoring this car and will sell when the reserve is met. The bottom of the car looks very good. Obviously, it has surface rust and shows that is has set, but nothing major at all. The interior is very nice and shows hardly no wear at all, the seats are very nice. Notice to bidders, this vehicle is being advertised locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early.
