Description of 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity |

Here is the deal: My friend bought this from a little old lady who took VERY good care of the car a few years ago. He did not do much to it. It sat and eventually started to run like crap. He asked me to sell it for him. I told him I do NOT sell cars that run like crap! So I had another friend who needed a car and I bought it and repaired it for her. She changed her mind AFTER I was done! What it needed to make it run perfectly as it does now was: A new idle solenoid and a new fuel pressure regulator. (My friend was quoted $1399.52 for parts and labor to do this job from Brake Max). I, of course did other things like new transmission filter and fluid, flushed out the radiator and put in long life Prestone. Changed the oil with Castrol High Mileage synthetic hybrid 10w-30, new air filter, 180F thermostat, and I am sure a few other minor things I am not thinking of at this time. (Remember my intention was to make the car safe and reliable for a dear friend). My friend, the previous owner, installed new Michelin tires which now have only 1000 miles on them, practically new. He got it aligned at the same time. The owner before him recently installed new brakes, struts and shocks. She also had the Air Conditioning System converted to R-134a. NICE! I have test driven this car a few hundred miles since I got it running. It rides and handles very good, very sporty. And it runs and idles great. And with the rigorous in town aggressive testing, I got 25 MILES PER GALLON! I do not know what it would do on the freeway, but I would guess it could do 30 mpg. I did test the cruise control and all aspect work as it should. Everything works. It also just passed emissions. This would make a great first car, a great second car, a great commuter, or even a great candidate for a cosmetic restoration. It is already top notch mechanically speaking.
