Description of 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS |
1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS. Excellent Condition. Front disc brakes and 4spd. This car was discovered in a basement in TN and had been stored there since its completion in 1976 elevated on wood blocks. The guy who owned it knew what he was doing. I know that is not the correct hood, I know that it did not come with a rear spoiler. The is as discovered and when the it was delivered it had tires that were in new condition and dated for 30 years ago. I spoke with the persons son who restored the car and he gave me the whole history of the car. His father painted for a NASCAR team that was Chevy sponsored and all the parts that went on the camaro were factory GM NOS pieces. The original owner worked for a deanship and dealer installed the L78. It is a real SS and has a CE stamped Chevy L-78 396/375 (425 rated in the vetoes, same engine) Replacement engine. It is my understanding that GM did not want any cars being sold that were less than 10 pounds per horsepower unless it was a Corvette. It has the correct Winter's Foundry intake and square port heads. It had tires that were in new condition that were from 1990, your welcome to them. It is about 3500 from being a big dollar car. I am trying to get the documentation on the engine ordering paperwork. The CE engined cars are far more rare than matching number cars. Buying some property in North Carolina. It is a unique find. I saved the tires that it came with as a conversation piece. If I don't sell it I am going to put a new interior kit in it and keep it or auction it live. On Dec-11-19 at 08:36:03 PST, seller added the following information: *** I have had several questions concerning the mechanical status. It could be driven home. The only non-functioning item I have come across is the clock has stopped. All gauges except for the clock work. E brake works, turn signals work. It is super tight and drives like you would expect a car with 65k original mies would drive. |
