Description of 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 -- |
A collector bought this 55 right out of California 11 years ago and hardly used it. Really, he didnt use it, he just wanted it. 4-speed with air is very desirable. EXTERIOR: Gloss red finish looks great on this car. The hood ornament and door handles were shaved for a clean look. Doors open by remote. Windshield is new. All new smoked side glass. Rear window has some scratches. Majority of the chrome looks like it's been redone. Up front the bumper, bumper guards, grill, headlight bezels look new. Rear bumper is rechromed but has some pitting, taillights are new. Side stainless trim is good original. The paint in the jambs is a little scratched up. Has vintage style 15 inch chrome Cragars with spinners and white letter BF Goodrich tires. INTERIOR: He just spent a bundle having a professional custom interior installed. Very tastefully done. Has reclining bucket seats that are completely recushioned, upholstered with really nice stitch work. Matching upholstered door panels. Has a matching custom made center console with armrest and cup holders. New headliner and welting around the doors. The rear speaker deck is also custom upholstered and has some real cool speaker grills and 55 embroidered in the middle. Carpet is new. The dash is painted to match the exterior. Has a really nice billet instrument bezel with white face gauges and a hot rod style tachometer on the steering column. Has matching clock. Beautiful custom billet steering wheel. Retro cassette stereo. Vintage Air heater controls look original but are electric instead of the old cables. A/C vents are nicely installed under the dash. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: 327 motor runs great. Has aluminum Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock carb with electric choke, headers and MSD ignition system. Dressed up with a nice set of polished aluminum valve covers and air cleaner lid. Has a chrome alternator. Modern Vintage Air system with a polished compressor. Upgraded aluminum radiator with electric fan, stainless upper and lower hoses. New power brake booster, master cylinder and lines. Has an upgraded electric wiper motor. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Tje trunk was just boxed and carpeted. Has amplifier and subwoofers. UNDERSIDE: Wow, this is what a true California car is supposed to look like. Clean original metal floors. Even the braces and inner rockers look like dry original metal. Has disc brake conversion in front. Bottom of the motor has chrome oil pan. Has 4-speed trans, Hurst linkage. In back it has chrome traction bars. New fuel tank, straps, sending unit and lines. Fat exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. I look under a lot of 55-57s, this has about the cleanest original metal I've seen. This car isn't perfect but looks great, has clean California floors, 4 speed with air. And it's not 50 or 60 thousand $ either!
