The fresh, modern design was based on two radical GM concept cars: Zora Arkus-Duntovs 1957 Q-Corvette and the 1959 Sting Ray designed by Peter Brock. This clean example, from the first model year of the C2 Corvette, is the one-year-only 'Split-Window' as well as hidden headlights- a trait that would become the hallmark of Corvette styling and used until 2004. An all-new chassis with independent rear suspension was added this year. This Silver Blue coupe is factory-equipped with an L84 327/360hp Fuel Injected V8 engine. An M20 4-speed manual and positraction rear end transfer the power to the ground. Also factory optioned with an AM/FM radio, tinted windshield and blue trim interior. Additionally, it is fitted with a set of knock-off wheels wrapped in radial T/A tires. Overall this Corvette is in excellent restored condition with very low miles since restoration. Always a crowd favorite, this Split-Window coupe is ready to charm the show or be bought as an investment grade automobile. |
