Description of 1971 Chevrolet Suburban |
Here's the deal: This is my brother's rig and he really loves it. He's poured a lot of money into it but doesn't know much about the modern combustion engine and can't seem to keep this thing on the road. He had the motor rebuilt but very soon after that, the engine "went bad" - which I think is code for "blew a rod" or something. Since he shot the motor (or whatever happened) the Suburban has been parked at our Mother's house and has been put into Non-Op status. Mom and Bro have decided to part ways with this automobile and have turned to me to help them post this beauty on Ebay. I've bought and sold a few Studebaker's on here in the past but those were my automobiles and I knew all the inner workings of how they ran and where they needed work. For this sale, I can't tell you very much other than: It's a pretty solid California car that doesn't have any catastrophic problems. The frame is straight, the body is solid and it's a beautiful candidate for restoration - or fix what my brother has screwed up and roll it around town and drive places most other little cars can't go. Before the motor went bad he was rolling this thing all over California and other than costing an arm and a leg in fuel prices, it went along pretty well. The tires are in good condition (purchased in 2018), the brakes work and the transmission is fine but things like gauges and door locks and lightbulbs are all subject to change. This 1971 Chevrolet Suburban is solid but this is an automobile for somebody who doesn't care about the little stuff or just wants a solid base to build upon. The passenger side has some scraping damage and repair work was attempted by somebody at some point and it has rust in all the places you'd expect but nothing horrible. As for the interior, the carpet and seat fabric is shot but the steel is in good shape. I've attached some photos and I can get answers to basic questions. Pink slip and keys are in hand and this rare, unique piece of American Steel is ready for a new home and new owner. Bidding starts at $2500 and has NO RESERVE On Jan-14-20 at 13:15:44 PST, seller added the following information: This truck is located in Pittsburg, California. My house is in Monte Rio, Ca which is very rural and difficult (expensive) to get auto haulers out here. Get shipping quotes from Pittsburg or Antioch, Ca and you’ll save hundreds of dollars. |
