Vinyl Interior SELLER REMARKS For a car that you can get in and drive cross-country any time. it's hard to beat a '50s Chevy with a fresh small block under the hood. This 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne 2-door is an excellent example of Chevy's 1-year-wonder. fully rebuilt and ready to cruise this summer. We'll resist the obvious "American Graffiti" references. but this is still one cool full-sized cruiser with lots of performance. Of course. the Snowshoe White paint job adds to the '50s cool factor. and it has been nicely rendered using modern paint technology. so the shine is impressive. The sheetmetal is in good shape and quite straight. emphasizing the intricate contours of the rear quarters. Gaps are good all around the doors close with a reassuring solidity that only comes from good base stock. We like the limited brightwork on the Biscayne model. which lets the sheetmetal speak for itself. a look that almost looks customized. However. it's important to note that all the original trim remains intact. including the dramatic stainless side trim which has been fully polished. and the enormous bumpers which wear shiny chrome that's probably better than new. We have hundreds of cars in the showroom. but somehow this white Biscayne stands out. Nice!Someone just spent a small fortune on an all-new red interior. which has a vintage look that seems right at home in this 1958 Chevy. The seats feature new foam underneath. making them all-day comfortable. and fresh red carpets brighten the interior. Crisply rendered two-tone door panels have vertical pleats for a custom look that's period correct. and the dash was painted white to match the bodywork so it's not red overload. The original gauges are still in place and are joined by a column-mounted tach and a trio of auxiliary gauges under the dash. with a digital AM/FM/CD radio fitted in the original location. An aftermarket shifter manages the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and the wood-rimmed steering wheel is a nice touch. The trunk is impressively clean. with a new rubber mat and enough room for anything you'd need on a road trip. A lot of guys claim their cars can be driven anywhere. but this car actually delivers on the promise. With a recently installed 383 cubic inch stroker motor featuring an Edelbrock carburetor and intake. it's the most reliable form of transportation since the horse. Chrome pieces like the open-element air cleaner and simple valve covers make this an engine bay you'll be proud to show. while functional upgrades like front disc brakes with a dual master cylinder. power steering. and a TH350 3-speed automatic make it a pleasure to drive. The chassis is original and super sanitary. there's no sign of rust or frame damage. and the original rear end still takes care of delivering the power. Long-tube headers feed a dual exhaust system that hugs the X-frame and uses performance mufflers for an awesome sound from the burly small block. Polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels finish the period hot rod look. and wear 235/60/15 blackwalls that really stuff the wheel wells. Someone spent a ton of money on this car. creating something unique without going over the top. With excellent workmanship and not a lot of miles on the build. this Biscayne is ready to hit the road this summer.
