Up for auction is a 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS 2D Hardtop. This is a very solid, clean and an overall good car. The motor was rebuilt only a few weeks ago and is basically all new inside. I have been driving the car regularly and it has approximately 250-300 miles since the motor was rebuilt. The complete brakes were all done and new at that same time including all 4 corners. Also done at the same time was a transmission service, and front-end inspection and alignment including new front-end parts, and new stainless exhaust from mufflers back. The car is ready to go and she rides and drives great… its fun and a pleasure to drive.

The factory color Ermine White paint has been on the car several years and I can’t tell you when it was painted. I buffed the car out and it is super slick and shiny as you can see in the many pictures below. Its not perfect but looks really nice. The glass and the stainless trim are in very good condition. The spinners on the hubcaps are polished however they do have little pitting on them.

The interior looks to be mostly original and in excellent condition except new carpet which I just had installed. This interior was only offered on the Super Sport cars. Everything on the car seems to work just fine except for the odometer (speedometer works perfect) … all other gauges, lights, turn signals, horn, AM/FM cassette player and tachometer work fine. It has an aftermarket gauge cluster also hanging under the dash. The stainless trim on the interior is near perfect and the seats and door panels are nice. The kick panels and the rear package tray do have a little warping in the boards.

I’ve been all over this car with a magnet and I can’t find any bodywork anywhere. It has a great body and just an honest old car. Good cars like this one are getting super hard to find.
