Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Sunoco Penske Car SEE VIDEO!! |
SEE HD Video:Click here 170+ Pictures Available:Click here Hey guys I'm selling my personal1968 Chevrolet Sunoco Penske Camaro SS tribute of Show Quality. Great piece of American Memorabilia for any collection. Professional rotisserie restoration was done including many options and details were carefully thought off to tribute the real one which was recently sold for 1 million dollars at auction. Car is mechanically sound and drives perfect! No corner were cut or compromise in this project. This would be a great opportunity for someone to acquire this beauty from me. Even thou it looks like a race car is drives like a normal Camaro, very smooth. History: Mark Donohue's and Paul Van Valkenburg's timeless book, The Unfair Advantage, revealed how Roger Penske and Donohue painstakingly modified their Camaro team cars to be wicked competitors. when it comes to famous race car Camaros, few are as iconic as the Sunoco (referring to the Sun Oil Company) Camaro. Back in the '60s Sunoco/Penske was, for all purposes, the Chevrolet factory team in Trans Am racing. Backed by Rodger Penske with Mark Donohue behind the wheel, they crushed the competition in 1968 (in a '68) winning 10 of the 13 races that year. LeRoy Gane was the car's crew chief for drivers Donohue and Craig Fisher. In 1969 they switched to the new body style and again won the championship by placing first six out of 12 times. The reason they didn't dominate as decisively in 1969 compared to 1968 was that Ford caught up a bit in the performance department with the introduction of their '69 Boss 302 Mustang. The Sunoco Camaro is powered by a big block detuned race 350cid V8 engine, with a 4-speed transmission. Engine was fully built with a street tune, however very surprisingly the car drives exceptionally well, and is not to loud for street driving which is what this Sunoco Camaro was built for. It has power steering, power brakes, fully detailed engine bay with custom pieces made especially just for this car. The Body is in great condition and has been sand blasted, coated, and painted during restoration. Paint is of very high quality and has a mirror finish to it. Body is rock solid, and all detailed undercarriage. The Body is straight as an arrow. During the restoration process it received all new mounts, new door seals, all new chrome pieces, new weather stripping, all new lights, bumpers, grill, all new bolts and nuts all around, all new windows etc.. Incredible amount of attention, and detail as been placed in this car. Underneath all floors are in excellent shape. I encourage you to see all the detailed pictures I posted. The interior was all done brand new during the restoration which was about 5 years ago now, Seats, door panels, dash and carpets etc. Custom Sunoco steering wheel with center pad, roll bar, full TMI interior, racing rpm gauges with pod, fire extinguisher and more. Also have an extra seat. This car will turn heads at every corners! I'm located in Miami about 30 minutes away from the airport. Feel free to come see the car in person. Any inquires email me. Sold As-is. $500 non-refundable deposit. Contact me 305-five four two 5662. Thanks for looking. Clean title under my name. If you're looking to finance I would recommend JJ Best.
