This 427cubic inch 390hp L36 Corvette Stingray roadster was built on March 1, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri and delivered to East Point Chevrolet in East Point, GA. Most recently this car has spent the past decade between several owners in Arizona, Florida and North Carolina and along the way has undergone a complete restoration. There is something special about a 427 Stingray and this is a restored highly desirable numbers matching roadster with the original engine, transmission, rear end and code correct carburetor. The L36 (390hp) motor was actually rated at 400hp when it was first introduced, however due to insurance considerations it was down-rated to 390hp without any changes to the motors. The 390hp/427ci motor features hydraulic lifters and a single 4-barrel carburetor making it low maintenance and not in need of constant tuning like the solid lifter, higher horsepower version of the 427. Most who have driven both the 390hp and 425hp motors prefer the 390hp motor on the street because of its abundance of low-end torque. These lower horsepower cars actually make more torque at lower RPM’s than their higher horsepower, higher revving counterparts (427ci/425hp)- making them as fast if not faster on the street. This car features excellent Silver Pearl paint, a 4-speed Muncie M20 transmission, factory side pipes, cast aluminum knock-off wheels and a teak wood steering wheel. The fiberglass shows no issues and is without cracks and the panel fit is nearly as good as it was when it left the factory. The Chrome shows as new and is mirror-like in appearance. The Black vinyl convertible top is in excellent condition and is simple to operate. Vintage air-conditioning was added that blows cold on hot summer days and looks like it belongs in this car. The interior of the car has been restored to better than new with all new carpet and leather seats and center console. Additionally, the car still has the original seat belts. All of the gauges are crystal clear and work perfectly, even the clock. The AM/FM radio sounds crisp and the dash is in excellent condition. This car looks and drives great and attracts attention at every stoplight. This is an investment quality numbers matching Corvette Stingray that is sure to go quickly. Auction prices on these cars have skyrocketed and Hagerty values this car at >$95k based on recent auction and private sales. ************************************ CUSTOMER BILL OF RIGHTS
