Description of 1972 Chevrolet C-10 Cheyenne |
This 1972 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne is a restored pickup with an awesome period-correct look, right down to the two-tone paint. And as you look closer, this long bed pickup has a few of the best subtle extras, like cold-blowing A/C. The result is a terrific classic that you can really enjoy. Two-tone has always been a distinctive style on vintage pickups. On this bow tie, it emphasizes the C10's clean, straight lines and gives these former workhorses a feeling of sophistication. It also helps that this truck went through a full restoration about a dozen years ago, and when you pay for quality, it lasts. Plus, this has been under the same family's care since the restoration was complete. So you have a classic look, but straight panels and a deep clearcoat luster to let this one even out-shine your nostalgia. On a well-done restoration like this, you also get terrific brightwork everywhere from the chrome bumpers to the accents of the Rally wheels. Because this is an upper-level Cheyenne it comes with some nice extra body trim, including the upper and lower body side accents. In fact, the lower one still wears its factory-correct 70s-cool wood strip within the brightwork, and this premium design touch continues on the tailgate, too. Nothing says a '70s classic better than a green interior. But just like the exterior, you have a classic look, but a far fresher feel thanks to a proper investment. The premium Cheyenne trim and attention to detail, means this really does have a terrific vintage look that includes the Western-style texture on the bench seat and plenty of wood-like trim on the doors and dash. But as you look around this truck, you'll also spot some worthwhile well-integrated modern upgrades. This includes the AM/FM/cassette stereo with vintage knob-style operation, and the air conditioning is blowing cold with modern R134a. The engine bay continues this truck's theme of a well-done stock-style restoration. You can tell they painted the bold block of this V8 during the restoration so that it radiates from within this dark engine bay. And when people ask you about this one, you get to tell them it's a year-correct block. The 350 cubic-inch motor inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with a sweet sound out of a well-done dual exhaust. 1972 C10s are really sought-after because this was the final year for the trailing arm rear suspension (and this body style), which helps makes these Chevys ride much smoother than most other vintage pickups. Plus, there are more comfort features that include the smooth three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes with discs up front. This truck has been given a comprehensive restoration and great care, which creates a strong running and smooth driving vintage pickup. So it's the right package you need to get your hands on.
