Payments Shipping Returns Terms About Us "That's someone's favorite car!" Vehicle photographed on 3-20-2015 VEHICLE Description:"Corvette '68. all different all over". That's the quote from the sales brochure for the redesigned 1968 Corvette. The body was completely redesigned with the coupe losing it's fastback window but gaining a removable back window and removable t-tops for that almost convertible feel. The chassis itself did not change much from the 1967 model. The new hidden wipers and hidden headlights are vacuum operated instead of electrical. Door openers now use a push button to open and a push in handle to pull the door. this was only used on the 1968 model. The new auxiliary top for the convertible has a glass rear window. The new standard automatic was the 3-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic instead of the 2-speed PowerGlide used previously. A new fiber-optic monitoring system was added to the dash and "Astro-Ventilation" was added to improve the airflow in the cabin. The '68 Vette did not have the "Sting Ray" badging on it anywhere. it would return in '69 as "Stingray". 1968 was also the year that Zora Arkus-Duntov was named Chief Engineer of the Corvette. Presented today for your consideration. NO RESERVE. is this beautiful 1968 Corvette Convertible! This a numbers matching. factory original hard top 1968 Corvette that has spent it's entire life in the dry climates of Arizona and California. Owned by the 2nd owner since 1984 and just recently brought out of climate controlled storage for reconditioning and marketing. Copy of Arizona title from May. 1984 shows vehicle mileage of 93. 00. the current odometer reading is 6256. That's 13. 56 miles driven in the last 31 years which makes sense. as the Corvette has been stored with periodic starting and warm ups since 1991 In Sacramento. Ca. This Corvette was assembled on Nov. 17th. 1967 at the St. Louis. Mo. General Motors Plant. This 1968 Corvette still retains it's original factory running gear and BUILD SHEET! The 327c. i. 300hp Chevy v8 (HO 81404908) matches the VIN# and the (M40) TH400 transmission and rear end were both verified by Corvette Connection of Sacramento. CA. as being original to the Corvette. Only 18. 30 Convertible Corvettes were produced for this model year and this is 1 of only 8735 that was ordered with the factory hardtop! Beginning in December of 2014. The Corvette was taken from storage and brought to Corvette Connections for a general assessment and repairs. The vacuum lines for the windshield wiper door and headlamp doors were inspected and tested and both assemblies function as intended. A new headlamp switch. starter switch and turn signal switch were installed as well as the heater control valve and hose. The Corvette also received a complete and correct exhaust system. transmission mount and steering rag joint. The rear end and drive lines were also inspected as well as the front and rear suspension components. The original wheels were then fitted with new BF Goodrich Radial TA's (225 / 70R15) and the front end was aligned. The fuel tank was removed for cleaning and revealed the original build sheet. A new sending unit and pump were installed with a new fuel filter. All fluids and filters were replaced and then a new battery was installed. The Corvette was then treated to a new coat of factory original Polar White (972) and it looks amazing! The quality of work performed prior to paint on the door jams and convertible top door areas is easy to see and the Corvette looks simply beautiful. Reassembly included a new air dam. left and right lower grills and front and rear Checkered Flag emblems. Inside. the Corvette received a new master storage frame and complete carpet kit. Also installed were new new door panels and the original seats were sorted through and new original covers installed. The factory dash pad and optional hard top vinyl are both in excellent condition. The fiber-optic monitoring system received a new rear harness and it now functions as intended letting you know of any outside lighting malfunctions. The original radio. cigarette lighter and all lighting and gauges function except the clock. The factory AC was just serviced and blows cold and the heater performs well. This 1968 Corvette starts easily. runs excellent and does not leak fluids. It drives on out with authority and starts and stops. well. like its a Vette! It shows no signs of any accidents or repairs to the body of any kind. This 1968 Corvette will ship with a clean California title. bill of sale and a set of original keys. It is currently registered with the D. M. V so there are no back fees due or other issues for the new buyer to deal with. The hard top cover will be disassembled and stored in vehicle with instruction sheet.
