Description of 1970 Chevrolet C-10 |
Up for auction is a real deal, hard to find, one owner Survivor 1970 Chevy C10 With very low miles. If you are looking for a true piece of history then Look no farther. I found this truck in Melba Idaho from the original owners. They Bought it brand new from Hannigan. Motors in Payette Idaho in 1970. It was used as a simple extra farm truck for many years and then parked. It’s a good honest vehicle and fires up every time you turn the key. It has a small block Chevy engine and I have not found a single oil leak on the ground since I bought it. It is an automatic with a column shift and has a 12 bolt rear end. It drives like a dream, there are no rattles, no smoke, no weird noises at all. Everything seems to work right down to the original side view mirrors. It has been kept basically completely stock and is truly a survivor. The interior is nearly immaculate for a 50-year-old truck. The original seat, though slightly worn, has no rips or tears. The dash is in near perfect conditIon as are the door panels and visors. The carpet, though slightly faded, has no tears or holes in it. Even the windshield is perfect. The only thing they have used it for since 2004 is to haul things to the dump. It has gotten about 800 miles on it and that amount of time. The body is amazingly straight but it does have a few scratches and some small bumps and bruises. Nothing major at all. The only thing I have done to it is to wash it, clean it up a little and install stainless steel bedrails. It doesn’t need them but it just gives it a cleaner appearance. There is no rust in the floors, bed, front fenders, cab corners in fact none on the truck at all except a small amount starting on the passengers rocker and a very small amount in the front of the passenger door. This is not a cancer truck at all. If you’re looking for a blast from the past it would be hard to find one as nice as this one. Is it perfect, no but it is a very very nice survivor that you can run and drive anywhere. If you are 50 years old you’re probably not perfect either. I think you would have a very hard time finding one this nice that has not been rotisserie restored. I know it has had a new coat of paint in its life but only one and it looks like it was a decent job. This is not a show truck it is something you get in and slip back in time to those trips to the hardware store with your grandpa. I would gladly get in this truck and drive it Anywhere tomorrow. It runs better than most 10-year-old cars on the road. Happy bidding! If you have any questions please call me at 208-859-6000.
