Description of 1963 Chevrolet Corvair GREENBRIER |
Here I have a 1963 Chevy Corvair Greenbrier RAT ROD van. It is currently not running. just needs a motor to drive. Everything else has been finished. It comes with a good tranny(mystery shifter). transaxle. good pressure plate. and clutch disc. I have around 4800. 00 in this van total. With the purchase of the van. transporting. all the new. NOS. good used. and missing parts that I bought. I am losing countless hours of wrenching for three months straight too. Awesome patina! Even has a rare roof rack option! Looks great! Found this bad boy in Kansas and had it transported out here to CA. It has great character and perfect rusty areas for that Ratty look! Should be left alone and not restored! I do not recommend even clear coating it. To me than changes the color of the patina. Makes it darker looking. I would just let it rust more. It will last our lifetime!!! 8) I just finished rebuilding all the brakes. all new suspension. and the fuel system with a recondition tank. new fuel lines and fuel sending unit from Clark's Corvair. I lowered this Corvair to give it the right look! All new KYB shocks at all four corners. The correct set of rare FC wheels were powder coated satin black. Brand new penner whites. Zero miles on them. Pros:-A new set of rear license plate housings as seen on the front seat in one of the pics. Purchased from Clark's. I never out them on because I ended up liking the originals better with their character. -New master cylinder -All new metal brake lines. made just like originals -Turned drums -Four new wheel cylinders -New front wheel bearings and seals -New NOS rear axle bearings(very expensive) -Brakes shoes -New upper and lower control arm bushings -New upper and lower ball joints -Four new KYB shocks -New aluminum gas lines -New sending unit -Reconditioned gas tank -Powder Coated FC original 14" wheels -New Hankook penner white walls tires. zero miles on them. 185 75R 14. Purchased them from American tire with receipt certificate. CONS:-Needs a motor. I have one. but it is more for parts than to rebuild. Appears it is frozen. previous owner did not tell me that. -Needs a battery and cables-Needs a alternator- CA black plate on the rear is for looks. does not come with this van. However. I do have a set of 1963 CA black plates for sale if the new owner is interested. A lot of NOS parts and new parts for the motor to get it road worthy again. These come with the purchase of the van. -NOS GM PF4 oil filter (blue filter)-NOS GM carb heat chokes(2)-Wicks air cleaners -New fuel pump-New spark plug wires-Good used starter-Wolf's Enterprises rebuilt carbs. -Distributor Cap -RotorFinish and install the motor. you will have a badass slammed Van! These Greenbriers are getting pretty rare. plus the original patina it has. its priceless. I wish I could finish. but ran out of money for this project.
