Description of 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Prostreet |
This 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Prostreet has that awesome look of performance from the moment it comes into view. And since this has a monster 502ci V8 and all the right hardware to back it up, the street-eating intimidation of this coupe is more than just skin deep. While the trim tag tells us this was born a red Camaro, no one is ever going to mistake it for anything stock. The deep gloss signals there has been a solid investment in getting this one looking so sleek. There were even nice investments in the fundamentals, like the front fenders. But what really attracts you to this one is its high-performance style. It has nice factory Z-car pieces, like a blacked-out grille, full-width rear spoiler, and black racing stipes boldly painted on top. But you instantly recognize this is something extra special with the huge power bulge in the lightweight fiberglass cowl hood. And the stance is absolutely mean with the polished Weld Racing wheels with seriously meaty tires in the back. The first thing that you notice when you open the door are the upgraded front bucket seats. These are competition-ready units with plenty of bolstering. But you also notice that they have some cool style with the red inserts that coordinate with the exterior. Even the dash has red accenting, which shows they were thoughtful about the presentation. You've got some nice features, like power windows, power locks, an armrest center console, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. But the upgrades you'll really love are all about upgrading the driving experience. That's why you have a Grant sports steering wheel, AutoMeter auxiliary readouts, and a B&M Quicksilver shifter. Under the hood is some serious speedy business. This is the mighty 502 cubic-inch crate V8. It has even been enhanced and fortified with aluminum heads, Harland Sharp roller rockers, a large Holley 870 CFM four-barrel carburetor, and Super Comp long tube headers feeding the rumbling Flowmaster dual exhaust. It's a monster powerhouse, and so it also needs the right supporting components. That's why you have, a March serpentine belt system, Pertonix HEI ignition, Powermaster high amp alternator, PermaCool trans cooler, and a four-core BeCool aluminum radiator. This mighty V8 feeds a stout TCI TH400 Street Fighter three-speed automatic transmission with a shift kit and 3500 stall. This connects to an aluminum driveshaft on its way to the 3.73 Positraction rear end for confident take-offs. As you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll see that they upgrade the suspension, including a Moog front end kit, Global West upper control arms, frame connectors, and QA1 adjustable rear shocks. Plus, you have power steering a four-wheel power disc brakes for ideal all-around control. Complete with restoration photos and service manuals, this is a sharp-looking and big-power coupe offered for quite an obtainable price. So you know you don't want to miss this deal. Call today!!! |
