Up for auction here is an original survivor 1970 Chevelle SS. This car has only had three owners over the years and has been very well taken care of by each one of those. It only has 51k original miles on it. There is full documentation with the car including the sales information, two build sheets, owners manual, original set of spare keys with the key blanks. There is a whole folder of paperwork not shown that goes with the car as well. I would like to say the car is 98% percent original. The only work that has been done over the years includes a paint repair to the drivers front fender, a new master cylinder, new tires, new shocks, exhaust, and the engine has had new gaskets installed along with hardened valve seats. The drivers fender was repainted many years ago. The color match is right on but looks to be sprayed in base clear, where the rest of the car is the original single stage lacquer. The clear coat is slightly shinier than the rest of the car but most people will never notice. You can't see this is any pictures but thought I would mention it considering the rest of the car is all 100% original paint, and never had any body work or rust repair. We have all the original parts that were removed from the car just in case somebody wanted them. The engine did not get rebuilt or anything it was strictly removed just to install new gaskets and install the hardened valve seats so it was able to run on today's fuel. Everything else on the car is original and in very good shape considering the year. There is nothing wrong it mechanically or body wise. You can hop in this car and drive across the country if you would choose to. The body does have a few dings here and there but nothing major. There are a few scratches and chips in the paint but also nothing major and to be expected for an original car that has been driven. This is the most solid original car that I have seen. There is no rust anywhere besides the light scale on the bottom of the car. Every square inch is solid it just has that light scale that a two year old pickup would get on the frame around here. It's so clean that you are still able to see the original paint marks on the driveshaft. I tried to show this in a picture but it's hard to tell when not seeing it in person. The interior is all original as well and in very good shape with only a few flaws. The two front seat have two very small tears in the seat bottoms. We did not have these fixed since the interior has never been touched and we wanted to keep it that way. All the gauges, lights and everything else works the way it should. The engine runs great and makes no unusual sounds. The transmission shifts and feels great. The rear axle is the original 12 posi with 3:31 gears. Everything is numbers matching and the original equipment that it came with the day it rolled off the assembly line. The tires are brand new bias ply replicas from Coker Tire. They are a period correct tire that look like the old ones but have the driveability of a modern tire. Overall this is just a great example of an original old muscle car. It runs and drives perfectly and is ready for a new owner to enjoy it as we have. This car is not showroom perfect or flawless like a restored one, but it's original and you know what you are buying. There is no makeup covering up bad body work or hacked up panels. It's all real 1970 sheet metal and there are not too many examples like this left out there that haven't been messed with. This is why we bought the car in the first place. Even if you chose to restore it at some point you would have no metal work to do and everything is there.
